New band name or not?

I always thought the name Beastie Boys was beyond Yauch's existence. This is despite the fact I loved the man and thought he was critical to earlier work by the band. Nonetheless here are four band names to continue the funckin' awesomely ill legacy:

1)BS 2000 Bros.
2)Latch 2000
3)New Revolutionaries
4) Beastie Boys

I don't know about this topic, which seems a bit ridiculous, but there's nothing disrespectful about the other stuff you mentioned, like talking about unreleased music. This is a forum about a band. Of course people are going to discuss the music and art aspect of it. I'm sure it's no different than what the fans of Led Zeppelin, Queen, etc. went through. What the hell else is going to be discussed until we hear what's going to happen from the actual band?

I'm pretty sure they would be fine with people wanting more from them. No need to get holier than thou about it from the perspective of a fan.

I think it's about dick measuring really. "Look at me, I'm being a more respectful fan, give me attention please! Look at me, I'm telling you from my position of nothing to get over it and they don't owe you anything!" The extent some people here actually go to try to speak for them is on the absurd, and it contrasts sharply with the three people I remember that had a sense of humor about everything.

I don't know about the dick measuring metaphor, but you're probably right about everything else. I respect that they feel such strong love for the group that they feel compelled to say some of those things, but not cool to try to prop themselves up while putting another fan down whom just wants to have a discussion about the same group that they also love as much as they do.

The New Reactionaries name has popped up twice... so I think Mike and Zdar should run with it and do a full LP of that Hardcore meets Trap meets No Wave shit, it sounded frrrrresh!
I would love the hear from them about why the name is sticking around.
