View Full Version : I went to a gay beach OR swearing in public?

Well it's not specifically gay, but that's what it was referred to over and over online. I went there because it had a solid five star yelp rating. It was pretty good, very clean, not crowded. Lots of hot dudes in small shorts. Plus a bunch of europenans in skimpy suits. Families and straight people too, good diverse mix. No bros in sight. That was marvelous. Anyway if you're a lady, and you hate leering beach creeps, try going to a "gay" beach, it's awesome!
Except for I did get driven away by loud talking women who kept complaining about their bodies and men and their dumb lives. And they swore too much, I was embarrassed for them. I've noticed lately that very mainstream looking people seem to swear or say extremely crude things loudly in public, like adults, not teens. People who look like they work at a bank or something and they're all like fuck fuckin mother fucker fuck. It's weird. I blame cable tv.

No they were just strangers becoming friends based on general statements about nothing in particular, small talk. Then one said "mother fucker" and they began mirroring each other's speech patterns during which the f bombs (spoken very self consciously) increased. I was just trying to stare at clouds and meditate kinda, let the big city melt away, but no dice. I was about to burn anyway, so I left. Coulda moved my towel I guess.
I just hate self conscious swearing, especially among strangers. I swear around my friends all the time, but not loudly in public. My mom and grandma tried really hard to raise me to be classy, my grandma would've called those women "base".
I also hate people who say "I look hideous" when they are not. One chick said she gained 20 pounds because she had a "hard year", like in the first two minutes of talking. Then she said other people on the beach should probably cover up, and then said to the other woman "you've got nothing to be ashamed of", and that woman said "uh, I'm not ashamed".
Anyway it doesn't matter I'm just complaining about annoying people again. Can't get any peace, sheesh!

you're such a woman hater
Yeah.
I don't mind swearing at all - except when you feel like the person is really trying to get the point across that they're tough and they swear and fuck you. If I haven't gathered that you're a consummate badass from getting to know you in general, loading your speech with cussing doesn't impress me.

Not really, I hate the behavior. I hate that people exist that would chat up a stranger solely to dump insecurities out and fish for compliments. I hate that they were at the beach looking at their phones and tanning instead of swimming. I hate that they were so damn animated and excited to be talking about absolutely nothing.
Really I just want people to be quiet if they have nothing to say. I know that is an impossible request. And I know I'm a snob and I hate all kinds of stuff.
I don't know why I made this thread, I just had some time to fill.
the point is, gay beaches are great! just bring your headphones!

ha ha, yep. Once I had to do work for a guy who worked for a fairly popular pop punk band and he was the swearingest dork I ever encountered. I was like, dude, enough. I get it, you think you're tough. :p

I can't STAND when you go to the beach with a girl and all she wants to do is lay out in the sun. what the fuck is the point to go to the fucking beach then? why do you need to "relax"? all you do is sit behind a desk, answer the phone and suck your boss's dick. you don't need to "relax".
I want to fucking run around in the water and fucking look at the snails and shit! c'mon

I don't know any ladies like that personally, but I've seen them or been around them. I think I just tend to hang out with playful curious types of people who like activities.
I think the agenda should be:
1. Get to the beach, lay out your towel, jump in the water immediately.
2. Stay in the water playing around or chill and take in the scenery while lazily splashing around.
3. Get out, reapply sunscreen, lay down and take a nap or read or build a sand castle or dig a hole.
4. Get up and eat a snack, then play some kind of beach game.
5. Get too hot, jump in the water again.
Repeat as needed.

my girl took me to a naked beach. we didn't participate except she went topless which was fine. funny enough, i felt people were less judgemental and a far friendlier environment that the beach we usually go to. no bros. if you can abide or block out the oldies and saggies, there were indeed some sights to see. having some junk in the the trunk, she said she felt much less self conscious there. i dunno

Went to a well known "gay" beach once with my ex wife and some friends on an overcast day. The only place that was actually getting any sun was on the volleyball court with a bunch guys playing in their short shorts. I imagine they were listening to The Pet Shop Boys or Madge.
