beastie boys music playing in really old pub

I was sat yesterday in the oldest pub in Winchester,Hampshire,England built in the 11th century and they started playing "freaky hijiki" over the sound system.
As I looked around the room of afternoon drinkers/eating lunch, everyone was enjoying the music.
Most people were over the age of 60 and they were very unaware they were listening to those rappers that stole vw badges in 1987.
