Last time was in 09 I think. Could be wrong though.
Anyway, would it be disrespectful to wear that New Yauch City shirt?

Not at all. It's all love.
Enjoy the show!

I think he would be touched to know beastie heads are still coming out just to show him love and support.

I mean, it was still ok. Just this weird aggro dance vibe which I half expected. I know it's not 1999 anymore, I guess I was looking to fill a Beastie sized gap in my life and this show didn't do it.
And while I could never match the skills on display, it was a bit sloppy and sorta repetitive. Just my opinion though. Had a mad time party-wise.

Saw Grandmaster Flash live earlier this year, had a pretty good experience seeing the man in the flesh and he dropped a few classics (Apache, The Message thankfully) but loaded the set full of typical club hip-hop jams ('Minem, 50).
He still had the skills turntable wise, but yeah I guess its not 1984 anymore and the dude was playing at an electro festival/excuse for kids to take pills, so he gave the majority what they wanted while making the effort to seem relavent. So I guess my only real complaint was based in some kind of nostaglic hopefulness.
Also saw Afrika Bambaataa live, and while he dropped more old school jams, and there was a bit of break dancing etc, the turnout was pretty slim and Bambaataa was not the most charasmatic DJ. Left it to his MC, a new dude recuited as part of the Zulu Nation to do all of the hype stuff. And then it turned into a electro-house party near the end so I left.
Maybe this old school hip-hip thing is better in my head than in reality. Or maybe I'm just not one for live DJ gigs.
Not to hi-jack this thread and make it about me though, just wanted to share some similiar experiences.
