Target has had multiple beastie shirts in the past, this isnt anything new. But I fuckin hate when places like target, forever 21, etc. sell bboys shirts so all the wannabe fans can buy it since they know "fight for your right to PARRRTY" ugh

Some "true fans" only consider people that have gone to the live shows as "true fans". Or the people that bought PB on its release date, went to the Tibeten concerts... Shit like that. I'm not one of those people but it makes a interesting argument.

Of course, ya know I mean it's definitely debatable, and I see "those peoples'" points. I mean, personally its my lifelong dream to grow up in the 80s-early 90s. If i had, I would have went to every fuckin show, bought every fuckin thing. But my point is- beastie shirts along with any band being sold at target, walmart, hot topic, pac sun, etc. etc. is bogus. Its an opportunity for fake fans to buy it because they know a couple songs, but thats just my view point.

Its like Nirvana.....they sadly got turned into a brand instead of people wearing their shirts for their actual MUSIC.

From personal experience (high school mainly) I saw a couple people wearing like the classic check your head shirt and I went up to each one "Oh my god! Your a beastie fan, no way man whats your fav song?!?!?!?!"

Majority response: "ohh I dont know haha" or "Paul revere, no sleep"
Bam i felt like saying take the damn shirt off then you wannabe MF. Then I started to get more creative and asked the random people what their fav song off check your head is......NOBODY KNEW!!!!!! Not one single person could name a song off check your head! Its just sickening to me.

I agree that it's a bummer that you didn't live in those big years the Beasties were crushing it. It's like I'd like to heard the Beatles records in that era.

Just being a passionate fan you're doing enough. Don't judge too much. Don't sweat the small stuff.

^This doesn't make much sense. You don't like when people make their own Beasties shirts (anyone can do that  ) and you don't like when people buy them from a store?

Any who, I have had owned, made or been gifted 83 Beastie shirts in my lifetime and always love to find a design i don't have, at a great price.

When I see peeps rocking a Beastie Boys shirt I just tell them nice shirt, great band... and I am happy to make a random connection with a stranger. Come on, we all know how cool it feels when someone in passing let's you know they like your Tee

i agree that you should have some knowledge about the artist that youre wearing on your shirt or youre just a poser like dont wear a malcolm x shirt and think he is/was a rapper etc. etc.

You can tell if somebody is a fan as oppose to somebody just wearing the shirt for nostalgia? Example. New Years Eve my family and I were all playing board games, drinking etc… and a guy shows up wearing a Beastie Boys shirt. I told him hey cool shirt, that’s my favorite band! He just laughed and said thank you. If you’re a fan you’ll discuss the music or something. I mean I could have asked his favorite song but I got the vibe that he was just wearing a shirt because it was cool to him. I’m not offended though.

The shirts I wear are usually from artists I know a lot about or am a fan of.
