Normal hats never fit me because of my enormous skull, so I almost never wear a hat. However, I recently acquired a nice hat like this:http://www.bonton.com/sc2/shop/brands/isotoner/isotoner-men-s-black-lake-of-the-isles-windsor-safari-hat-with-band_532541.html

And it's so comfortable and useful. Especially this winter. If the wind is whipping into my face, I can just cock it forward and block the blast. It works surprisingly well. I have to keep something with me to cover my ears, but that's no big deal.

Anyway, I never knew the magic of a good hat before now. It's kinda comforting. People seem to give me more respect too, I wasn't expecting that.

go hats!

hats are great because you don't have to fuck with your hair. I feel more secure with a hat on too. no idea why. it just feels right.

Have you noticed that fitted ball caps are not exactly fitted anymore? I blame the youngsters with their flat brims with the stickers still on them. For this reason I have switched to adjustable ones.

I think they make them now real low and loose now so the tips of your your ears fit into the fucking hat.

It depends on the hat. I don't like panama's hats. Unfortunately, they are still in over here...

Hats to me look like either attention seeking or insecurity.

Of course, that could be my insecurity on my part.

I really hate ugly hats or novelty hats. I think mine is classy. I've been getting compliments and respect all winter. My mom says its because I look like a detective

I have a giant skull too! It's hard for me to wear most hats because I'm really sensitive to any sort of pressure on my head - I hate headbands, too - and they're usually tight. But I do have one, which I call Yellow Hat, that I've had for a long while. I guess it's more of a floppy toque, and it's this beautiful mustard yellow, like this (http://img0.etsystatic.com/024/0/5469086/il_340x270.503238270_8w6w.jpg) or this (http://img1.etsystatic.com/000/0/5299526/il_340x270.193854613.jpg). It's the only hat that I can pull off and I get a lot of compliments on it. One friend even said it had become my "trademark" :o It's losing its elasticity and I am very concerned about that because I love Yellow Hat.

hats!

I believe this to be true. I've gone through phases in the past where I always wore hats, then stages where I didn't put one on for months. I definitely think it's strongly connected to self-confidence/happiness.
