Dear Everyone in Every Airport or Any Other Public Place Ever,
OH MY GOD! STOP COUGHING LIKE THAT! Just cover your mouth! Cough into your shoulder! Cough into a napkin! Lift up your collar and cough into your shirt, I don't care - just STOP COUGHING WITH YOUR MOUTH OPEN AND NOT COVERING IT! It's gross and unsanitary and you look like a dead-eyed monster.
That is all.

Oh yeah. People on NYC trains COUGHING IN YOUR FACE, and then they get mad at you when you ask them to please cover their mouths.

Cover your mouth for sure, but I'm not into the cough into your elbow thing. Apparently someone decided that's the thing to do?

I live in bird flu land; people wear masks here.

I got into the habit of coughing into my shoulder. It's a little awkward at first but once you train yourself it becomes second nature. One of the many habits picked up from working as a cook - that and being REALLY good at keeping my mouth closed when I sneeze/swallowing the sneeze or whatever you call it when you hold it in and don't let anything fly.

I think I could cover my mouth with my shoulder. I can't cover my mouth with the inside of my elbow. I don't like when people do the elbow thing around me because I think it's ineffective.
Maybe we should all carry old man hankies.

i feel the shoulder is ineffective. too much residual cough blast can come off the top and side.
i prefer the elbow method.

The last time Enver (my son) got sick was because we were at an indoor playground and an obviously sick little girl sneezed on him.

sneezing whilst driving is the thing i hate, either let it go all over the dashboard or risk driving into something.
in uk, nurseries wont led kids back in if their has had vomit or illness for 48 hours , which is a bit of a nightmare childcare wise but they have to cover themselves i suppose

If you're wearing a coat, lift up one side and cough or sneeze into your armpit, literally. Traps all the nasties. If you're wearing only a t-shirt, lift the collar up over your nose like a bio-hazard mask and let loose. All good.

yeah ill pull up the v of my polo at work and cough down into it. 100% containment.
don't act like it's not up all the time
i got stuck in front of a clearly disgustingly sick man in a long long long customs line at an international airport once. i got sick the following week and blame him

not my collar. the top middle of a polo where the buttons are, that when unbuttoned and showing my beefy chest, make a V.
