I just watched "the punk singer" on netflix. I wasn't too hyped to watch it and didn't care much for Kathleen (not that I knew anything about her). I only watched it because I couldn't find anything else. But I ended up really enjoying the documentary despite my initial skepticism. She certainly is a more important figure in 90's music than I had thought she was. They obviously played a lot of her music during the documentary and I was surprised how good some of it sounded. However, pretty much every one of her songs I heard in the documentary seemed much better then this new Julie Ruin song.
