Your Favorite Non-Rap Artists?

I hope this type of thread hasn't been done to death on this forum. I haven't posted much here at all, and not in about 5 years, though I regularly lurk. Don't recall seeing this type of thread here before though. Anyways...

The main ones that come to mind for me, and are def in my top 5 are:

Jimi Hendrix
The Beatles
Nirvana
Elliott Smith

To top it off with a number 5 is REALLY tough for me. The other 4 are EASY. I'll just say Pink Floyd at the moment to round it off haah. Can't really go wrong with that choice for me.

the beastie boys are the only "rap" artists that I listen too haha. and I don't even really consider them rap. they're way too genre bending and diverse to be pegged down to one thing.

Yeah I wasn't necessarily referring to the B-Boys as far as confining them to strictly rap, though that's what probably most of their musical output would technically fall under the category of. I'm on the same page as you with that though terd. It was more of a general thread. Yeah the Beasties are a genre all of their own haha. I just know there's a lot of rap/hip-hop fans on here, and was curious as to what artists everybody is into besides those in the rap genre in general.:)

Yeah Terd, I'm really into most of the artists you had there in your library over the past few months. Of the ones I saw listed, I'm in full agreement with Led Zepp, The Doors, Soundgarden, King Crimson (I wish I had used that '21st Century Schizoid Man' sample before Kanye got ahold of it :mad: lol...he didn't craft that beat btw on 'Power', just put some finishing touches on it that he saw fit), and Beck. The rest of the artists I'm not familiar with. Great taste though!
