What a traitor, Yauch & Adrock would never do that shit.

yeah they would. yauch posted on these boards that he was for the brooklyn arena and nets to brooklyn and in some interview classified his allegiance towards the knicks as "fair-weather" and Horovitz,,, well maybe not Horovitz.

No Yauch wouldn't have. Yauch was a basketball fan who was cool with Brooklyn getting their own team, so am I. And even die hard Knicks fans will sometimes characterize themselves as "fair weather" because of the heart ache that is James Dolan. Yauch as a basketball fan would also be shocked by the embarrassing lack of enthusiasm and intelligence the fans at Barclays exhibit.
Yauch wouldn't have been down with what mike did last night, no way.

no they won't. no diehard fan of anything will call themselves fair-weather about something they're supposedly diehard about.
I don't know if you're joking or not so i'll I just stop.

If your argument is gonna hinge on that "fair weather " quote, a link would be nice for some context. After all, a fair weather fan isn't going to attend the draft and snap pictures with danilo gallinari

I am happy I have no idea why this is nothing but cool.
Sometimes being a stupid/ignorant fan has the benefit to just be happy.

A New York team asked a New York celebrity to introduce them and people think there's some conspiracy theory or selling out going on? hahaha
Mike Dino, your looking and sounding awesome on the mic. Great to see you in a stadium setting! Get on the mic, Mike!

The description for that video call hims "Brooklyn native." He's born in Manhattan right? But he lives in Brooklyn right? So, "Brooklyn resident"...
If he calls himself a Knicks fan, then yeah this is a "fair-weather" move. I guess sometimes it's hard to not get pulled in when something fun's going on. I bet Adrock cringed when he saw it though.

I saw Lakers super fan Jack Nicholson in a highlight reel and at tonight's Clippers game. At least Mike was just introducing the team wasn't on the floor patting the players on the back like he's been in that seat since day one or some shit.

Yeah, I know the same thing's happening at the Clipper games now. I'm kinda surprised about Nicholson though. He's been sitting next to Lou Adler at Laker games forever. I guess Jack's just like, fuck it, I'm old, this could be my last chance to watch some good basketball, enjoy it while I can. He definitely has a love for the game.

Mike, I love you but that is straight up fraudulent. If you're down with the Knicks you don't introduce the Nets! I could see sitting at the game like Spike, I mean it's playoff basketball. But introducing them? You've been rapping about the Knicks for decades!

I was being nice because of that last incident we had with an Indiana fan.
but even in their end of season slump they still managed to secure the #1 seed for home court advantage in the Conference Finals.
I think the title is the Spurs for the taking this year.
in conclusion, I give Mike D's kids a pass if they want to be Brooklyn Nets fans.

I'm okay with any remaining team winning the title except the pacers.
But they seem to be by far the least of the teams remaining anyway.
I'll root against the Heat in the Finals.

I think the Spurs are too deep for the Heat and a fading Dwayne Wade to overcome. Obviously LeBron is the greatest equalizer since Jordan but San Antonio was one free throw away (come on Ginobli!) from winning last season. I think the Spurs are just as good and Miami is just that little bit weaker.

Wade was fading last year and bosh was playing worse last year and they still beat the spurs. I hope you are right, but I am preparing myself for a heat 3-peat.
And it's weird how the spurs choke a lot (getting bounced in the 1st round as a 1 seed, last year's Finals) even though they are an nba dynasty. I would like to have more confidence in them but I can't. Plus there is still a decent chance the Ibaka-less thunder beat them.

I need to know the strength of the rivalry between the nets and the knicks.
In uk, if someone like Noel Gallagher (huge manchester city fan) was asked to do something similar for man united. Well he wouldnt do it but he would be never forgiven by city fans and would get a terrible reception from the united fans.
Did mike get booed? I couldnt hear much

I don't agree with that logic at all, I don't think it works that way.
I love Noel though, he's always a hilarious interview.

Its not logic. Football (the proper one) doesnt follow logic. What i was trying to say was that if Noel did that, it would never be forgotten and a lot of city fans certainly would never forgive him really. Some people take it that fucking seriously. ITs good natured mostly but its still a serious rivalry. There is a banner at united that is there at every game that says
"Love United, Kids , Wife. In that order." Most city fans i know would never do anything pro man u. See example link of comedian Jason manford who played there in a charity match in a white strip , took a penalty, missed, got loads of shit from the united fans then did this

Yeah it was done with a laugh but he still wanted to show his true colours. fair do's. And the united fans laughed (and jeered) back. they respected him for it.
I was trying to gauge if the Nets/Knicks rivalry is anything like some of the UK cities football rivalry because it is intense. I think the fact mike d didnt get much shit says to me the rivalry isnt that mental

I think as NBA rivalries go its fairly significant, but no fans are as fanatical as European and Latin American soccer (I mean football) fans. In the states I guess the probably closest thing to Manchester City and United would be the NY Yankees and Boston Red Sox (although I hate baseball) and a handful of college rivalries But soccer fans are on a whole other insane level.
As far as Mike D goes, I don't think he's what Noel is to Manchester City. First off the Knicks have a laundry list of celebrity fans that are more famous than Mike (from Ben Stiller to Chris Rock to John Macenroe to Nas to Alec Baldwin to many many more) I would presume that the Gallagher brothers are the most famous of the Manchester City fans (although that's just from my dumb Yank's perspective). I also think right now Noel is probably a lot more well known in the UK than Mike is now in the states.
I would guess that if Noel formally converted to becoming a United fan the United fans would ultimately embrace him with devilish glee (and not shun him) and use it as ammunition against the City fans. I ultimately don't think that's what Mike was doing here. I think it's more about him missing the spotlight than anything else and jumping at the chance to hold a mic in the center of a full arena. I would be very surprised if he suddenly stopped supporting the Knicks, but this still was a bit of traitorous move (albeit in the childish sports fan sense). Maybe he did it for his kids, who knows

By comparison, if Spike Lee did the intro, it would be news.
Damn, Spike Lee just BEING at the Nets-Heat game 4 was news.
