You cannot live...unless you die. You cannot die...unless you've lived.
Music is an expression of the soul - and we've seen these three souls - either by EP, LP, CD, cassette or live. We were entertained and in this imagination of the soul only music brings, we all became - for a very brief moment - Mike D, AdRock, or MCA. I personally remember snagging a VW ornament - only to get beaten by my parents when they realized what I had done....but I wore my chain proudly for exactly 48 hours lol...I grew my beard as long as I could and wore a T-shirt with the term "BillyGoat" one summer.
I too remember writing some pretty ridiculous lyrics on this board. Because, from three kids from the Northeast - this Texan with a dip of tobacco in his mouth was inspired! YEEEHAAAWWW!!! :) That's what it's all about - do your own thing, man....free flow with the free throw let it go and watch it roll...down the tracks off our backs from the shin to the toe and (oh no) Almost did it again (again).....No, no, I won't :)
I personally hope the B-Boys have a vault; somewhere, a few lines from a time when one could live - knowing they would die - but lived. And, when death surely called - we knew that it was NOT in vain. For, with death, and only with death, we are granted life. You cannot die unless you've lived...and you cannot live unless you die. The cycle continues.
My bike will never be on its kickstand and my front tire will forever be arched to the sky! I will forever try - however hard it may be - I will forever try to play basketball in the rain...yes, that would be great.....peace
