He was probably my favorite funk/soul-jazz drummer. He played on so many of my favorite albums of that style. A lot of my favorite Grant Green albums.
I was in a soul-jazz band in the 90s that used to cover Loran's Dance, which was always a pleasure and always got a nice response. I still play it all the time when I'm messing around on keys. Really a great song.

Loran's Dance was the best his music and my favourite song...
