Unsure how popular he is outside of Canada, but TV personality George Stroumboulpoulos threw out the first pitch at the Blue Jays game last night (September 23rd) rockin' an RIP MCA jersey.

I'm British and have no idea who he is but the sentiment still carries over. Great pic and thanks for sharing (y)

that's a nice custom Jays jersey.
one of these days I was going to customize a Brooklyn Nets jersey or t-shirt in honor of Yauch.
but I can't decide on jersey number 3 or 64. and I don't know whether to say "MCA", "RIP MCA", or just plain "Yauch"
How about 'Yauch 3'?
I think that would suit.

Awe shucks...
Strombo, as he's known by cuz of his crazy name, is the host of a really good talk show up here. He's a cool guy with incredible music knowledge and (obviously) great taste in music, too!

Bluejays? Nets?
I don't get the point of slapping Yauch's name on apparel of teams that he wasn't a fan of, but I guess any tribute is nice.

to me, it seems obvious to marry Brooklyn with a Yauch tribute.
he posted about the Nets on this message board with a "how about those Nets coming to Brooklyn?" kind of vibe.

Not at all indicative of him being a net fan, and he is a well documented fan of another nba team.
But again, any tribute is nice

Adam Yauch is also a former Brooklynite and in general, was a huge NBA fan
(sports and beastie boys just go together)
my design idea just says Brooklyn on it, with the alternate logo with the "B" in the basketball, no mention of the Nets.
seems appropriate
but again, thanks for the approval.

Right after I read this, I ran into strombo in Kensington Market, I asked him about the jersey and he said they almost didn't let him do it. He said they were really pushing for him to have his last name but he refused. He wanted the MCA tribute or nothing.

Wow, what a wicked story.
Makes it even more profound that he pulled it off (y)
I bumped into him once a few years ago, super friendly dude.
