I'm going with E-Pro (http://youtu.be/RIrG6xBW5Wk) and Kid Koala (http://youtu.be/vI2HOKQ9QnA)

E-Pro is pretty obvious only because Beck made a big deal of it when the album was released. And as soon as you hear that those are the drums you can hear it. Awesome music video though.

Hadn't heard that Kid Koala song before! Thanks for sharing.

I always thought DJ Shadow's sample on the intro of Entroducing where he samples of Mike D from Party's Gettin' Rough ("I don't even want to hear about it you're just fessin'") was digging pretty deep.

Shadow samples some other early Def Jam on that intro too.

Sublime "in the place to be" on the Apr 1992 riot track

That song was all over the radio.

New Aesop Rock project Hail Mary Mallon track 4 (http://youtu.be/zNWdfo12Mio?t=16m36s) has a dope one all over it!

It was in Boston. I heard it all the time on BCN, FNX and WAAF. I have an incredibly clear memory of driving to and from my senior picture dealie in 1997 and hearing it on the radio both ways. Blasting it.

The car I was driving didn't even have a tape deck, it was an 87 Chevy Celebrity, factory model radio.

Anyways, that sample is on the Summertime track.

Summertime and the livings easy, something something something *Mike D sample* In the place to beeeeeeee

But you're right, the other track was not played on the radio. Did they sample it in that one too? I can't remember it.

oh yeah, that's the one. (y)

as a sample itself, thought it was pretty obscure

Welp, we were both half wrong! I always thought it was a great sample too.

Here's one

DJ Radar sampling the Tibetan Monks and Adrock "now let me introduce myself on this cut". Nice example of scratch music to boot.

Wouldn't say it's all that obscure, but I've always liked this one.

I don't know if I count or not (haha), but I've sampled the Beasties here and there.

On the intro of Funk Abomination (https://dynamo-p.bandcamp.com/track/funk-abomination) a sample of UNITE is in there.

Lots of obscure ones. Nice.

My vote would be them sampling Johnny Ryall on the Vibes, and in turn sampling the Vibes on Sure Shot.

I always liked the sample in The Prodigy - Voodoo People (Chemical Brothers Remix). Brief but nice:

Yeah the first time I heard that I was pretty surprised.

The drum fill that gets scratched into the lead-in of the first and third verses. Under Hurra's voice.

Cat Power (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXXTsWo37Aw&list=ALBTKoXRg38BA2QQK_V8lOYTvqeoRRTFb8). Probably not most obscure, but a good one.
