Bought loads of British magazines today which had a spread or several pages on MCA. Also got a tattoo... Will be posting scans and pics in appropriate threads later tonight.

At the end of that "MSG Celebrity Countdown: Beastie Boys' Top Knicks Dunks" special, it was dedicated to MCA.

Santigold interview about "Don't Play No Game That I Can't Win" and MCA:

Working with the Beastie Boys was an amazing experience, most importantly because I formed some very valuable friendships with those guys. They're role models to me all around. I've loved them since I was 11. I was so inspired by them, saying I wanted to be in the girl-Beastie Boys. They're so down to earth, real, grounded people. To tour with them [and] we were together at [President Barack Obama's] inauguration, even recording the song and hanging out in the studio for a couple days, I had some really great experiences with those guys. Any opportunity I have to work with them, I love to do.

With MCA, I don't really like to talk about it. He was really special, someone you connect with instantly. So open, inviting, immediately accessible and friendly. He was the first one I had a relationship with beyond music, inviting me to places, making sure I had my inauguration tickets. He was the warmest, friendliest dude. It's such a great loss. lt really hurts my heart.

It says it is a special commemorative cover. I wonder how hard that is going to be to find.

Or is the issue going to have a double cover?

Not sure if anyone else has seen this or if it has already been posted but I think it's worth posting again- Kathleen Hanna writes what she calls her "first Installment of her words on Adam Yauch" it's a beautiful read so far. Looking forward to more. She also has some pics that I haven't seen before.
Enjoy :)

Thank you for telling me that. I read the one you referenced as hers and when I stumbled on this one, I thought- this girl is crazy! Why does she keep referring to herself in the 3rd person:rolleyes:

I think if I hadn't been so late and I had not been sooo tired, I may have realized. I hope:)

The tribute edition will be out in July. I know where to get it. It's easy to buy. I'll link it here when it's available.

Oh and just wanted to add this from Carl Denson. He is doing another tribute show this saturday to honor Adam and the boys.

Super props to Adam (MCA) Yauch. In light of our recent tribute and the attention to detail that requires, I've grown even fonder of The Beastie Boys and MCA's work and genius. Our sincerest condolences go out to his family, friends and fans. RIP. - Karl Denson

Called the best newsagents here in Stockholm, they'd just gotten the Yauch issue of Rolling Stone and they reserved two copies for me! They get both Source and Alternative Press as well (the latter only one copy!) and they're gonna hold copies for me when they arrive! :D

here's mine. I hope you don't judge me for my age. Please just read it. I know I'm young and though it seems very unlikely, I'm a huge Beastie Boys fan. I love my boys. I'm scared of posting this up because I know a LOT of you will curse me out and tell me to go watch Jersey Shore (Worst fucking show EVER) or some shit. But please, give me a chance. I did it for him.
I love you MCA, rest in peace..

Nobody is going to curse you out, man. It just sucks that you're young and have to experience everything brought about by this sad time.
