Just watching the Espys & they opened with greatest sports moments of the year- used Check it Out for the first part & put pretty good emphasis on MCA's parts (no one talking or no crowd noises). Certainly better than the Billboard AwRds did, IMO.

Thanks a lot, I really appreciate it! I was thinking of adding some kind of drum track to it, not sure though. It definitely hit me hard when MCA died. Still can't believe it, and I was more sad than I thought I'd be since I didn't know him, but I really liked the guys for awhile, it sucks. I'd love to hear other mca/bboys tributes too.

Oh no! I love it just the way it is. I think it's perfect.

Cool, thanks a lot. It's cool getting plays on there, but I'm not ever sure if people are into it or just check it out then move on lol.

"What made the Beastie Boys so endearing, and still does, is that they’re in on their own joke. They’re the smartest kids in the class, playing the part of the class clown."

.............I don't know if this counts as a "tribute"; but it's worth a listen anyway.

New song by the Italian singer/songwriter and rapper Lorenzo Cherubini, (better known by the moniker Jovanotti) called New York For Life, in which he gushes over his favourite American metropolis, with shout-outs to Grandmaster Flash and our own beastly boys. <3

He sounds like Italy's version of Bob Dylan :)

I just found this photo I took in Dallas in 2004. MCA in a blonde rasta wig. Fun fact: the VIP pit emptied out about halfway through so those of us left had an awesome time.

Why anyone would leave a concert half way through when they have tickets in the VIP area is crazy but at a beastie boys concert  there's usually plenty of room there even at capacity of 20 or so people. Nice pic!

Not really sure, a lot of them were more into texting/talking on their phones than the show.

I know it's probably (definitely?) not the case, but in my head I'm thinking D'Angelo was paying respect to MCA by including the 'Shadrach Meshach Abednego" refrain during 'Chicken Grease' in his Philly show last week (about 8:30 in):

I think that was in the song he recorded. But it's been a while since I've listened to that album.

Nah it's not in Chicken Grease (or on Voodoo at all) from what I recall.

This tribute isn't exclusively for Yauch, but I didn't know where else to put it.

I should not be getting teary eyed still just from hearing their names mentioned. I'm worrying me.
