There are so many, great MCA rhymes. One of my favourites is from Putting Shame in Your Game, which is also my favourite Beastie Boys song:

Like a bird floating down on a New York breeze
Every thought in the mind is a planted seed
So watch the mind or the thoughts will stack
Before you know it they're boomeranging on back

And when I'm on the mic - the suckers run!

[I play LTI over and over, because His unique voice/tune is best heard on that album, IMO. For a non-native listener, that is.]

Re: MCA rhyme

Someone mentioned Yauch's lyrics in "Putting Shame In Your Game," which I also love, and took my user name from. One of Yauch's gems that always cracks me up, is his speech midway through "The Maestro":

"Aw yeah, I need a little bit of cooperation right about now. I'd like to find out whose favorite detective it is:

Is it Mannix?

Barnaby Jones?

Somebody say Colombo!

McMillan?

Is it Cannon?

Barnaby Jones...

...I said that already."

LMAO

Re: MCA rhyme

A dope one would be, find a cool picture of the three of them, where MCA is out in front rhyming, and underneath it put the words:

Me and Adam and D were born to emcee

That says it all.

Cause you know Y-

A-U-C-H

Im takin all MC's out in the place

Re: MCA rhyme

Love the way his voice emanates in this somewhat raunchy lyric:

My girl likes franks, not pork and beans,
I'm gonna wax that girl right out them jeans

But for some reason, this always speaks to me

Well I'm on 'til the crack of dawn
Mowing down M.C.'s like I'm mowing a lawn

Not an MCA lyric but I heard this tonight (TTFB is on rotation right now) and it got me to thinking:

Time to count MC's in this place to be
Not five, not four, not two, just three

Re: MCA rhyme

(Adrock: "Tryna take what isn't yours like a goddamn rat)
Yauch: "See, I personally, I wouldn't wanna go out like that"

"I told her some rhymes and she pulled up her skirt" Haaa. Yauch you dog you!

Thanks for this thread. Still trying to finalize a lyric to go with my tattoo and this helps... It's so hard because so much of his rhymes are amazing. I want MCA on it too so I don't know how I am going to figure this shit out!

Ah... all of these are great.

Some TT5B love here though;

"I went to get a loan and they asked my race/ I wrote down "human" inside the space. It's a disgrace how they try to debase/ it ain't the banks' damn business how my lineage trace."

"don't test me, they can't arrest me, I'll fake right and cross-over shoot lefty."

haha.

Nice ones!

One that changed them from naughties to PC's:

I wanna say a little something that's long overdue
The disrespect to women has got to be through
To all the mothers and the sisters and the wives and friends
I wanna offer my love and respect to the end

There's so many more profound MCA rhymes, but this one totally hit me off HSC2. I couldn't help but chuckle every single time it was dropped. From 'Crazy Ass Shit' --

Quote:

I mean that's all I got, except I've just got...
Even Michael Diamond him never learn
Atop him head, him have a curly perm

Re: MCA rhyme

Over the years I've grown and changed so much
Things I know now, years ago I couldn't touch
There are things I've done that I wouldn't do again
But I'm glad that I did 'cause I learned from them
I just try to stay present, right here, right now
No worries, no fears, and without any doubts

And the true key is a trust in self
For when I trust myself, I fear no one else
