Calling all collectors (trading, buying & selling)

Ok so there are pleny of collectors who frequent the boards, some posting more than others. Some know all the other collectors, some know a few others and maybe some know no others at all.

You can find various threads where people are looking for a specific record, or trying to sell or trade but a lot of other forums have dedicated sections. How about keeping at least a thread where we can post our wants list, list our trades or auction listings? Perhaps it could be made a sticky? Perhaps it's been tried before and failed?

Anyway, I'm Adrian from the UK. I have a want list too big to put up here but I do have a few things that I would be interested in trading. I'm not really interested in selling any of my collection, I'd prefer to trade for something I want.

Finally, does no-one wanna trade something for my Country Mike red vinyl? Country Mike trade wanted

This sounds like a great idea.
There are a lot of collectors out there and its easy to miss when someone posts something for sale or a wants list.

Re: Calling all collectors (trading, buying & selling)

Thanks for your comments on my photos, i'll maybe get some more up soon. Unfortunately being a collector I'm not really too interested in selling what I only have one of. I'm looking to trade the things I have multiple copies of for things I don't have, although I will sell these items for the right price. I'll put up a list of my trades if you want to see if there's anything you don't have?

Create a Google Spreadsheet file of your wants, like AstroBBoy did for the stuff he's selling.

Maybe some of the stuff you're looking for, he has... (y)

An idea would be for all of us, with even the slightest interest entertaining offers on our stuff could do the same thing. Giant list of our collections, and If people want to make offers/trades/etc.., then they can.

Click on the underlined part in the above messages stating "AstroBBoy did" and it will bring up the googledoc for you.
No pics in the spreadsheet BUT every item is linked to the discography in Beastiemania so you can see the pics there.

Hey Adrian,

Sorry sir, but I just made the connection between your board name and you. It all makes much more sense now. You actually have a few items for which I am looking. After picking up everything I didn't already have from the two recent "liquidations" my list has grown considerably shorter, but I estimate there are still around 70 or so that I would like to add.

I love the idea of a thread for people to post their want / trade lists.

I am going to get mine together to post here, but (like you) I have a huge want list and a marginal trade list. I think a thread like this would really help people with small or moderate collections the most because it would be a good place to enlist the help of other enthusiasts. I wasn't smart enough to buy doubles throughout my collecting days, and honestly don't even look at items that I already own with the thought process that I could grab another and trade it down the road. I have however had fantastic success with helping other people track down releases, and many people over time have helped me by doing the same. It would be great if there was enough interest to make this happen! Big ups for conceiving the idea.

Not sure if the admin have rules on buying/selling via the forum. I know other forums deny it as it can lead to spats. But on that note...

I am selling some of my beastie stuff on discogs, http://www.discogs.com/sell/list?sel...q=beastie+boys (as well as other bits).

For guys on BBMB I don't mind offering a bit of a discount if contact on here as I can skip out some fees. Some of it a bit rare and I must admit, I've priced the beastie stuff a little higher than the other stuff as I'm more reluctant to let it go, although it's still priced to sell everything if you know what I mean.

I'm hoping that this will be a place where people can post links to their auctions, post lists of trades, help each other out finding stuff etc but not actually list things specifically for sale. That kind of thing would have to be done via PM or email and be complete distanced from the board. It works well in other online communities so hopefully the admin's will let it stay

I found Hello Nasty on yellow vinyl at my local thrift store (they just re-opened with a marvelous department for everything to do with music: loads of vinyl, T-shirts, books, collectors items...). Should I get a second copy of it? It's in perfect shape, 200,- SEK...

Re: Calling all collectors (trading, buying & selling)

My current collection and want lists can always be found on my web site at http://www.spring-garden-vfc.com/beastie/

More specifically:
Beastie Boys: http://www.spring-garden-vfc.com/bea...m?SectionID=10

BS2000: http://www.spring-garden-vfc.com/bea...m?SectionID=11

Mixmaster Mike: http://www.spring-garden-vfc.com/bea...m?SectionID=12

Luscious Jackson: http://www.spring-garden-vfc.com/bea...m?SectionID=13

Country Mike: http://www.spring-garden-vfc.com/bea...m?SectionID=14

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I got this posted on the other thread, as well, but if anyone is interested:

I'm selling my 1986 "Get Off My Dick" t-shirt on eBay right now if any of you don't have one, and might be interested:

I've been meaning to put my collection onto a Google spreadsheet but in the meantime here's a list of my items available for trade

No problem BFL, I probably should have mentioned it rather than assume you new my name on here!
I never really had the funds to get multiple copies but I have picked up a few things when the price is too good to refuse.
Get that wants list of yours up when you get a chance, several pairs of eyes are better than one (y)

IMO thats a decent price if it's in mint condition. There are a few copies for sale on discogs starting from about 20 Euros. Strangely I found it harder to find a good copy of the standard black vinyl than the gold.

I'll try and get my collection posted up in readable form soon, I have multiples of a LOT of Promo CD's that I'd be willing to part with to help out a fellow Beastie Boys fan...

My collection is pretty limited, as I'm broke as hell most of the time, but I discovered a gold-mine of promos when I actually had some extra cash, and bought what I could. so yeah, I'm down to help somebody out.

Have a look at my trade list, perhaps there are some things you need in exchange for some of your promo cd's (y)

Props to Xavito, I've just completed a trade with him. Anyone who hasn't dealt with him before have no fear - a top guy to trade with. Friendly, and knows how to package things up well for postage, thanks (y)
