Re: MCA
They did a pretty good job around NYC mentioning him on the day of his death.
Got mentions at the Knicks and Mets games, on SNL, and most news reports on TV mentioned him. Sadly, there really isn't any good Alt Rock/Modern rock radio stations here in NYC, but they did make a mention on Q104 (Classic Rock) and even played Fight For Your Right in tribute. |

Re: MCA
these screen grabs were sent to me by the lovely midzi almost 6 years ago and represent my proudest moment of being part of the AIFST crew. they are taken at the very beginning of "All Lifestyles" right after AdRock shouts out to Yauch's daughter Losel when Adam opens the song with "ideas spark my hand grabs a pen"
thank you Adam Yauch for the opportunity that you provided me and the joy that you brought to many fans like myself. they will be memories that I cherish for life. |

The preformance of the B Boys in Amsterdam at the HMH was Legendary. Will still talk about it to this day. Thanks MCA for giving me an experience for a life time.
Wil always enjoy your art. Thank you B Boys, you are, and always will be the music in my life. |

Re: MCA
Where the Beastie Things Are Courtesy www.http://JonBurgerman.com They say “celebrity deaths” come in 3’s, but over the last few decades, years, and months, we’ve made so many people famous that it’s hard to tell when the last 3 ended and the next 3 started. Fame used to only come to those who earned it through artistry or accomplishment, but now it’s handed it out to anyone pretty or scandalous enough to move the reality TV ratings (which just leads to more “celebrity deaths”). But that’s another essay. This is about the recent deaths of two true artists, Adam “MCA” Yauch of the Beastie Boys, and Maurice Sendak, writer and illustrator of the legendary children’s book… |
