It's title (for those lucky enough not to know) is all about having your servants put your gifts in boxes. Personally I think they should be made to do that before xmas, not before, you know, wrap the things.

Boxing Day rocks in my book. It's the day for drinking and fun with your friends after the "family" day on Christmas Day. Being Scottish and getting January 2nd off to nurse hangovers is good too.

All the shops are open and people can't wait to hit the sales and spend money with so much fervour, anyone would think they had been locked out of all shops for the past six weeks, rather than just having spent the last six weeks shopping, and they need to spend more, more, More!!

I've spent most of my Thanksgiving alone. Aiedyn was with me this morning, and I then cleaned my apartment and ate at my place of employment.

I guess instead of celebrating my Indian roots by stuffing cornucopias and bird asses, I'm celebrating my Irish heritage my getting drunk off black and tans.

Anyways, Boxing Day is just an excuse to have an after-Christmas special for the shopping malls. It's not a real holiday, though it may have started off that way (and it's only celebrated in the Commonwealth).

we basically have boxing day, we just also have other real holidays of importance (MLK Day) so its deemed unnecessary to clutter our calendar with such crap.
