Beastie Boys Book tour DVD

Im assuming there is going to be a DVD after the filming that has been done recently on their book tour.
What bonus features would people want to see?
I would like to see anything unseen from the Paul's Boutique era or 90 -early 92 the check your head jamming sessions or the 2011 recording sessions.

I would definitely buy a Blu Ray (or DVD) if they offered it.

I suspect we'll be seeing a Netflix release but I still prefer to be able to buy a disc of certain things for various reasons.

One thing is that I hate being at the mercy of the streaming provider when it comes to watching what I want to watch. If Netflix decides to stop streaming the feature then it may be impossible to watch in the future.

The other thing is that Blu Rays still offer far superior sound and video quality to streaming services. If you have the set-up its usually well worth the effort to watch a movie on Blu Ray as opposed to Netflix/Amazon/Hulu/Cable.

For most stuff I don't care but for the Beasties I'd definitely want to own a physical copy.

Can I just hijack this to say how I hate that when you "buy" a movie through services like Amazon, YouTube, etc. now, you don't actually have it? You can't download it, can't copy it onto a different medium (like a disc or another physical drive), etc. I get that piracy is a problem, but this is a real bitch. I have a bunch of movies that I really enjoy that I've bought through YouTube and whatnot, and one day I'm sure they'll just alter their license agreement and drop them, probably refunding me a couple nickels.

But anyway yeah, I'd like a physical copy of any film that comes out of the book tour as well!

I'd buy two. The first one for me, and the second one for anybody who might want a sealed copy somewhere down the road. I'm never gonna not want a physical copy.

it was a joke. i was making a high-def joke since dvds look and sound like shit on a 70" 4k screen and surround sound. i abandoned that format for blu and 4k years ago. but yo, keep watching that standard def like a sucker my guy.

when you buy a digital movie on iTunes YOU CAN download the file on your hard drive and you own it forever, so that's wrong too. any more misinformation y'all want to share? lols.

i still buy physical media for all the important shit but i'm slowing down. sometimes movies just aren't available on high def in physical form so occasionally i'll buy something off iTunes or Amazon to enjoy it in 1080 or 4k. you can download the file and keep it forever. you're only fucked if the internet goes out tbh.

You can't download movies to a hard drive through Amazon or YouTube however. The best you can do is download them through apps to watch offline, but they don't exist as an mp4 or anything - they're fragmented into little pieces so you can actually move the movie itself.

yeah i don't know about all that but i have all my iTunes movies backed up on a couple ext-hd's. i never have a prob streaming them through my 4k apple tv either. always looks great.

netflix, hbo now, hulu, youtube and other streaming apps might not look as sharp as a blu but i really don't consider owning anything i stream.

Hell yeah. Let's not forget, Style Wars on VHS still has the Mardi Gras break on the Grandmaster Flash scene. And you can watch the unmolested Stat Wars on VHS. Turntable TV, Rappin With The Rickster, the LTI video, the list goes on...

I’m thinking this thing may have missed its mark too little too late, and that we may never see the light of day. It’s just a completely random opinion I have based on the reactions I have seen to the April shows. I hope I’m the wrong but I’m a beastie boys fan. They aren’t going to release a sub par product.

The show I went to was great. You pretty much have to be Beastie Boys fan to appreciate the concept, but if you're a fan, what more could you ask for (aside from another album, which can't happen)?

What's happened is that the Beasties have fans in high places and I suspect that alone will drive the release. I guess time will tell.
