Hillarious.

I didn't check the other artists on this compilation but I think Ad Rock's track may be the most original and punk à la bs2000.

Maybe Adrock and Mike D just weren't as expressive and artistic as MCA and that is why we see no more art from them?

I did not pay for anythng because I am so poor in currancy. however when I first listened to the free for the birds tracks I liked it. Wish I was a real buyer, but for now I am paying other bills

I don't understand what anybody is complaining about. That was a really (r)(d)ope 45 seconds of experimental punk rock noise. I really dig the tweking he did to the birdsong deeper in the mix.

At least for me the next track on youtube is Yo Yo Ma's contribution. Adrock's is the perfect antithesis lead in.

I'd love to hear more of this punk rock/BS2000 combo. If that what he feels like making, I'm here for it.

Sounds like shooting mechanical parrots!

What was the mechanical parrot anyway?
I just remember a poster.

part of me is inspired by his just don't give a fuck attitude, can't get more punk and larry david than that. running through dan rather's interview, fucking with mike on echo chamber, the rubin pod, the WTF pod...come on man, rock the bells in his garage, etc.....his engagement on all those is minimal at best but kinda funny. all i'm saying is that i hear a little 30 second hardcore jam about birds, or his bars on YO KEV and in my mind i think.....dude ad rock, i can almost guarantee you want to go all-in like your verse on spam or hurras tracks, or on that DFL shit and you know you can, so can you please just give me more art to consume because i love you and the world needs you.

fan selfish perhaps...but hey so be it. i think it's ok for fans of their favorite band/actor/actress/poet/DJ/musician/etc. to still want the absolute best from them.

example. i love de niro, my #2 fav actor ever. for the past 15 years he's been lazy in not only selecting his roles, but also (in some cases) lazy in his performances. i think it's ok to be critical of this....and still love him at the same time.

I just feel like the passion is gone. It’s finished and it’s never coming back. If he was inspired or wanted to do something, he would have. Yauch dying young was the tragedy of all tragedies, but life goes on. That’s not an excuse. And frankly, he doesn’t need an excuse. I’m with you, I wish he would do more stuff but he always came off as a guy who didn’t feel like doing much anyway. Even back in the heyday.

Also, that bird thing is ridiculous in the most literal sense of the word. That’s a joke.

this amount of scorn should've been directed at him for the lady sovereign/northern state stuff

this is a charitable work, which is nothing new for him. I mean he makes a wack looking shoe for planned parenthood and it's all good, a nasty ass sandwich for the dogs and it's all good, he does a charitable project for the birds and now he's lazy and wack

Re: Adrock's new benefit song "Pasadena Parrots"...

I always assumed he and Mike both retired completely from music. It's always nice to see them do little gigs here and there, but I really don't expect anything from them.

I never cared for the Bridget Everett shows or those weird political projects. I am much more in tune with Mike. His art shows, surfing, wine and food blogs, and DJ gigs. Yay!

But I have always enjoyed Adrock's film work and any music he puts out, even this bird thing, I will take it!

As a selfish fan, I would love to have both of them in the studio releasing some new mixes of their hits or maybe guest spots on other artists tracks. Why? I just don't want people to forget them. I just want people to say oh fuck yes, The Beastie Boys...

I haven't been on here in forever, I didn't think I had my password saved. It feels like I time traveled to the past because this board looked exactly like this the last time I was here.
