Dear BBoys Brothers and Sisters,

I'm a message board noob and I usually keep my mouth shut and let Khloe, Turch, Scooby and the rest of you take the reigns--I know my place on the totum pole. I have to thank the contributers to this thread, though. My whole weekend has been a blur of Adam. It consumes every part of me that's left after the diapers are changed and the mouths are fed, and the house is (not really) put in order. Thank you thank you thank you for being the community that I turned to when my friends, coworkers, and family think I'm over-reacting to a huge loss in my (ours, yours, the world's) life.

LL.. That's somethin.. Check out the previously unseen video someone posted today on the other thread about Bboys on chapelle and his reaction seems that much more real. Good of him to share those feelings with us.

triple j's tribute to the Beastie Boys' Adam Yauch

Quote:

In the tribute below, hosted by Lachie Macara and Sarah Howells, you'll be able to hear a bunch of that material alongside interviews with Suffa from the Hilltop Hoods and Chuck D from Public Enemy who are currently on their 80th tour for Groovin The Moo. Their first was supporting the Beastie Boys in 1987.

Uploaded this for my man MCScoobyT

This is a mixtape, not a remix tape.
The Yauch Tape: An Anthology of MCA - R.I.P.

168mb
1hr:34mins:32sec.

Tracklist

I took the liberty of adding a few photos of Adam to the zip file that I'm sure he wished he had never posed for. We could all use a laugh right about now.

I'll find a more permanent place for it on the site in a few days.

One of the Adult Swim bumpers tonight was simply text saying: "Adam Yauch [1964 - 2012]" in total silence.

Re: MCA Tributes

Dear @all,

truthful sincere words of Mr LL Cool J and the others.

The whole weekend I was overwhelmed about Mr Yauch`s going home. Not only because of the fact, that the beastie boys are still one of my favorite "gangs", but the truth is, the 4th of may is the anniversery of death of my father, just 15 years ago.
(The truth, I promise).
So I didn`t get out of melancholy until today and thought about a real big tribute for MCA.
I know, it`s to early for stuff like that and it sounds maybe out of place for some of you.
But wouldn`t it be extraordinary, if Mr Diamond and Mr Horovitz would think in the future about a cinema movie, titled of course, "PWR 2 MCA". This film could not only be a historical view back, about the beginning and the sensational success of the bboys and other participated old schoolers.
It could be a movie for peace and international understanding. I really could imagine, everyone in the near environment is involved in that "project".( Maybe Including a speech of his wife, an explanation of the tibetan conflict, showing a bridge which was built to our black bros and sis, some episodes out of the heart from Mr Horovitz and Mr Diamond, fusioned and all mixed up with good, good music....).The benefit could partly be donated to human organisations or whatever you believe in.
Once a time I read, the best thing you can do, is to bother yourself, if you`re filled up with real big concerns, including a process for such a lost without trying to push it away.
I hope you could accept my rash thoughts and don`t misunderstand them.

Thank you.

About a month ago, I told my husband that I wanted a new tattoo. He asked of what? and I said idk--I'll just have to wait for the inspiration. I never thought this sadness would be the inspiration I sought. I have a few ideas rattling around, but it would mean a lot to hear your (you amazing fans) ideas of a great Adam tat. Please and thank you.

Sorry, I don't really have any ideas for you. I just wanted to add my two cents because I've been contemplating a Beasties tat forever and I haven't pulled the strings due to money and not knowing exactly what I want. Now I've been thinking even harder about it..these last few days have definitely turned that on...

I am on the same page as you. I've never had a tattoo and I've wanted one for years. Up til now the best idea I had was a 45/7" spindle. But F that. It's got to be Beasties. Should we start a new thread?

I always felt like Adam was a brother from an east coast mother: bass, hoops and Bad Brains.

A crazy talent whose contributions with his band were inspirational and consistently ground breaking.

Our thoughts go out to his family, friends and his Beastie brothers.
