Just found out zane lowe is doing an hour tribute at 8pm GMT tonight.


he's on there now bigging up the tribute and is getting loads of stories sent in.

its good.

I have no idea who you access this outside of uk, sorry

it's been so hard to keep up with all the links and news stories, I've been online the last few days rather than tuning in to broadcast and cable outlets. I hear they play the So Whatcha want Clip and honor Yauch but I haven't seen the whole thing yet.

edit: around the 13:00 mark when they come back from break Jimmy adds one more "Thank You" to his list, holding tears back and simply said "I love him"

and of course the Roots play Beastie Boys in and out of all commercial breaks.

That "Band of Brothers" article is beautiful, and so true. There will never be another group like the Beasties. They weren't just about the music; they were also about humor, friendship, and LOYALTY. Yeah the ICA London in 2004, I won entrance from a BBC radio 1 when they had contest, really tiny place and was really close to the stage, they were occasionally giving out hand slaps and our man MCA grabbed my hand and pulled it and wouldn't let go for the for a time or maybe I was gripping on subconsciously.

I'm hopeful some quality DJs will be putting out some tribute mixes in the coming days.

Z-Trip, Green lantern, and Mick Boogie have already done fantastic mixes, but this is the first posthumous Beastie mix I've found:
