True but by that standard there are not many comparable guys.
The last two WCs were won by strong team play. Both Italy and Spain won with shared responsibility. not star power.
I'm not expecting rolando to lead Portugal anywhere soon or for kaka or someone to come close to achieving Messi/Ronaldo level even if they lead their nation.
It's a hard standard to live up to. The pele, maradona, zidaine standard but Messi is as close as we've seen.
