Re: MCA Tributes
I haven't seen this listed but Alamo Drafthouse in Austin had a Beastie Boys Rap-A-Long (they have done a few previously, they also do sing-a-longs, movie quote-a-longs etc.) a week or so after MCA passed where all ticket sales went to the American Cancer Society. There was also a link where you could donate, which I did, but didn't attend, it was just too soon for me. I did like the concept though.
I used to joke that no matter how mad or sad I was anyone could turn on Beastie Boys and it was instant happiness for me. I can't wait for that to be true again.
I want to say thank you to everyone that has been posting on this board. The first week or so after MCA passed I really felt that no one truly understood how much his death has affected me and then I came back here and instantly felt like I was surrounded by people who were feeling the same things I was and I wasn't alone. Y'all are all awesome!
