Brunch is one thing I forgot to mention - Home in either Silver Lake or their other location Los Feliz (silver lake one is less crowded) is baller. Swingers in West Hollywood or Santa Monica is similarly fun and tasty. Rose Cafe in Venice is really nice. There are tons of great places to go for brunch. And if you're in LA, you have to do brunch.
