nope, it's true. it's been like that as long as i can remember but i think it became more mandatory after september 11th and all. hah, after that i remember my physics teacher yelling at me and my friend because we didn't say the pledge, we just stood there silently during it...i said i have every right to choose not to recite something i don't wish to, this isn't nazi germany. besides, i was being respectfully silent and standing. he said something about people dying to protect our freedom, and we asked if he was in veitnam, and he said something about being in college...he dropped it.
