She's always been like that man, ever since she debuted about 5 years ago (Jesus, has it REALLY been that long!?). She has a habit of wearing corsets OVER clothes and performing in lingerie...but she'll be wearing a shirt or a tanktop under the lingerie, thereby making the lingerie rather useless. And she likes to wear REALLY REALLY short skirts, but with tights underneath it or jeans so that you don't see anything.

I actually kinda like the pink crap in her hair. I wonder what that'd look like on me and how to do it.
I heard that she went to a hair salon to do it, at least that's what her friend said on her messageboard.

Dude, she aint got nothin on Tank Girl!!!!
That's actually where Skye got the idea to decorate the bulldozer from. She's a HUGE fan of Tank Girl. She says that the 1995 Tank Girl movie starring Lori Petty and Ice T is the best movie ever made. That and Grindhouse. She says that she wants to make a comic like Tank Girl and her official website is like a quasi-preview of said comic.

Hell, the music video for her first single off of her new album is essentinally a Tank Girl homage. [/cheap plug]

For her 18th birthday back in May of '06, I sent Skye two burnt CDs to her fan mail address; one was a copy of Quarashi's Xeneizes which I had lying around, and the other was this mix CD of Beastie Boys and Quarashi songs that I made specifically for her. Just a collection of songs that I figured she liked because she'll listen to anything once. I also wrote her a letter just telling her how I was a huge fan and that I always listen to her, nothing major. Oh, and I also sent her a birthday card because it was her birthday and all. I did it on a whim, I figured, "Eh, what do I got to lose?" I never thought that she would actually get it.

Fast forward to April of 2007. One day I'm on my computer, and my mom knocks on the door to my room. I open it and she says, "You got a letter." Then she held up the envelope, and I saw a Skye Sweetnam sticker on it and I knew immediatley that it was from her. I was freaking estactic. You wouldn't believe. I never thought that she would actually get my presents, let alone write me back. And it was HAND WRITTEN, not typed, HAND WRITTEN too. It didn't matter that it took about a year, the point was that she actually took some time out of her day to write me back and that was really cool of her to do. She thanked me for the CDs, the letter, and for being a fan of hers. Then she apologized for taking so long to write back, saying that she had a whole bunch of other fan mail piled up before she got to my presents. Then she wrote that her 18th birthday was great and that she was looking forward to her 19th. Then she signed it "Much Love, Skye Sweetnam xoxo".

I was VERY happy that day. Very much so. That was really nice and sweet and cool of her to do. It made it all worth it. She's got my support for sure! I've still got the letter in the envelope in my room on my computer desk.

And THEN, in November last year, she picked me as the 2nd Place Grand Prize winner in her MySpace Contest because I pretty much turned my profile into an advertisement for her new album. She sent me a message on MySpace telling me that I won. And then she ended up sending me a personally autographed copy of her new album (good thing too since my order of it from Amazon got CANCELLED! Fuckers. There's $50 down the drain.), an autographed copy of her "Tour E.P." which you could only buy if you saw her when she was the opening act for Kalan Porter and Faber Drive last year, 3 buttons, 6 stickers, and this drawing that she did that she used in the music video that she made by herself for her song "Music Is My Boyfriend". I've got all of that sitting on my computer desk too. I still haven't changed my profile, so my profile is still pretty much an advertisement for Skye Sweetnam's new album 6 months later.

And since this IS a Beastie Boys board, I think she's a Beastie Boys fan too, since I saw this picture that she took in her room for a Japanese magazine (she's really popular in Japan), and in the picture, there's some sort of Beastie Boys merchandise in the background, but I'm STILL not sure what it is. It looks like a Beastie Boys Board Game, but I don't think there ever was a Beastie Boys Board Game released, was there? I think maybe Skye saw the Beastie Boys wallpaper that I was using on my MySpace profile and that was how she picked me as the 2nd Place Grand Prize winner.

We Love You MCA!
