Sure Shot - Guns Of Brooklyn Mix by Steve 'Boy' G.
youtube link..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D3-b1...ature=youtu.be soundcloud link.. http://soundcloud.com/steve-boy-g/be...ooklyn/s-9rotN Dedicated to the late great Adam 'MCA' Yauch. Back in the 80's I used to create cut up mixes of hip hop tracks for parties using a portastudio, I really wanted an Akai MPC sampler but it wasn't going to happen. Here is my mix of 'Sureshot' - sadly no MPC just a laptop and Cool Edit Pro sampler and Ableton software. Just a bit of fun, could have gone on working on this for months but my wife has threatened to leave me! Word Up! Steve 'Boy G. aka Steve Griffiths. Beasties fan since '85 [feelin' old now]. |

Re: Sure Shot - Guns Of Brooklyn Mix by Steve 'Boy' G.
I really really liked the whole intro beat leading up the first verse. But as soon as you put Mike D in [and maybe even before during the first hook] it seems off. Occasionally a verse is on the beat.
The beat is nice and you have some good ideas in here mix wise, but it's off and hard to enjoy for that reason. I'd love to just hear the instrumental, but as a remix I don't dig it. Thanks for sharing it though.

I've really been enjoying this mix! Last week I was playing the music at a party and thinking it would be really cool to have something with The Clash and Beasties!
