Re: Fuck, if Open Letter had just sounded like this all along
I like how it sounds on record. Effect on the vocals and all. I also think that's a fucking ace performance, though. The only thing I'd change in regards to An Open Letter...is that it should have been released as the second single and in bloody America.

OMG I love this performance. The energy and their chemistry and the way they sound live is amazing. I love both the live and the album version. I mean the album version and the intro always gets to me.

Re: Fuck, if Open Letter had just sounded like this all along
Seems like I remember Yauch saying in an interview that he regretted that Capitol did not make it a single in the US despite their encouragement to the label to do so. Anyone else remember this?

Side note: He also said they wanted to do Right Right Now Now on Solid Gold Hits but Capitol would only let them put 3 tracks from TT5B on there.

I just like that the whole shit sounds a lot livelier. I don't know, I feel like they used to sound this live on their studio stuff. This clip is great though, nice to see it back online until MTV decides to shit on my neck

Re: Fuck, if Open Letter had just sounded like this all along
this is one of my favorite songs ever. and i think it was released as the 3rd single. first check it out, 2nd triple trouble, and 3rd Open Letter. I could be wrong but i Know I have the single for this...
check my NYC GRIMY REMIX. Its mobb deep vs Open Letter. Turned out good. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page...m?bandID=16613

Re: Fuck, if Open Letter had just sounded like this all along
It sometimes, sometimes, feels like they should finish recording and then spend a month performing them shits to see what shape they take as 'live' songs. Then they could go back and fucks with them that way. I cite the great ideas that came out of the Mix Up tour, and this performance, and head back to my assignment.

I hear ye; I meant performing it in private, like in the studio to see what it becomes. Then we'd be none the wiser
