Adam Y's B-Day
I probably can't make it to NYC for a memorial. However, me and a few others were thinking it would cool to go to NYC in August for his bday. Would anyone be interested in attending an event on Saturday the 4th. I'm thinking nothing more than drinks (got a drinking establishment in mind already), Beastie Boys playing all night, and great conversation. To me the idea sounds like an amazing time. Just throwing the idea out there to see if it sticks.

Is there a limit on who can attend? I am sure I will have several bb fans/friends who would want to go. So what I am saying is this gonna be a public invite for fans who want to come or what? Let me know because I am very serious about going!

I'm going to do some leg work today. I just need to find a spot that has the most flex in terms of attendance and can accomodate the type of event we want to do. I hope later today or tomorrow to have some answers.

I have decided that I will leave California and attend if you do this; I opened a Southwest CC yesterday that will supposedly give me 2 free round trip tickets for doing so...or so says the fine print. I think this would be pretty cool....

Hey Everyone,
I have been talking to a few places and have some great leads. One place stands out its a dive bar with character in the East Village. They can accomodate a group of 30 to 40 (hope I'm not being too optimistic). They think we can have control of music from 8pm to 10pm on August 4th...they are getting the manager to call me to confirm. I really want to make this happen...I am going to keep contacting places until I get one that can give us exactly what we want. Great work Jason. Sounds like your plan is working.
With it is being planned early and the date still months away, I think the turn out will be really good. And....We lost Adam, we lost our band. :/ People are more likely to attend.@beastie911. Yes I would be down. About your username... I just realized I mentioned that this whole thing with Adam was like a Beastie911. Seriously I will always revert back to "where were you when you got the news." ;/ Sorry just thought of that.. but yes I plan to stay over the weekend.

The Beastie Tour would be great! We could get introductions out of the way so we can really get into it that night.
I've been to a few spots... Du buffet from the ALive vid 59 Chryste St Fulton Street Mall (yes I did by sneakers there) Oscilloscope Labs Magnolia Bakery (before Sex and the City Adrock said it was his fav coffee spot) probably some others I can't think of.

Everyone is welcome. I didn't really know anyone on here either...until very recently. Its great getting to know other Beastie Boys fans...and we will get a chance to celebrate a great individual.
I plan on having an all-Beastie weekend. So far we got... Beastie Boys Tour (Probably be a Subway tour )Evening Shin Dig - Drinks and Beastie Boys' music in the East Village Brunch the next day I am sure I will come up with other ways to fill the weekend...maybe collectible hunting.

I'll be visiting NYC for the first time July 8-15, with mom, wife, and kids in tow. Still, I would love to hit at least a couple of Beastie spots while there. Maybe I'll post when it's closer to the time for me to be there...
