it's okay to date two girls at once as long as you wouldn't mind if either of them were dating other dudes whilst dating you. My rule is always to think how i would feel if the situation was flipped, so if you don't care if they're dating other people and you haven't discussed anything to the contrary you're in the clear.
disclaimer: i'm single and frightened of relationships so never mind if anyone's dating other people cos it means i'm not being sucked into the relationship vortex so this rule may not apply to people without this problem.

"Dating" is the key word here, Bob.

It's perfectly fine to date a couple people at the same time, because it's "dating". You are going out and taking the time to get to know each individual person to find out if they are right for you. In fact, MANY people do this. The girls you are dating may also be seeing other people as well.

Just be upfront and honest with them. Honesty is VERY important. Take things slowly until you figure out which gal is the best match for you.

oh no, i'm not having a moral quandary or anything. i understand that this is a normal thing that normal people do all the time, i'm just...well, i suppose i'm bragging, really. i'm doing normal people things, go me, this is so new

but don't go calling me a stud just yet because i met them both on a dating website! so i'm still kind of lame i guess

i went out with one last night and i was worried because she seemed really uncomfortable the whole time and i couldn't tell if it was because she was disappointed with the IRL me or if she was just shy. i think she was just shy though because she stuck around and kept ordering more beer instead of taking the opportunity to escape. and then at the end i asked if she wanted to do it again sometime and she sort of hesitated before saying yes, like she was trying to think of a way to politely say no, but couldn't, so she'd just think of something later. but then she texted me today saying she had a great time and wanted to see me again, so i guess she was just shy! which i like because we'll have that in common at least. she's also cute, like a dorky lizzy caplan. so we'll see!

the other one i haven't gone out with yet but she asked if i wanted to get a drink sometime, and i do! so i choose to call that dating
