Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
Sunderland season ticket holder here, been going since 86 so seen plenty of ups and downs. Mainly downs though
Looking forward to the season starting, missing the crack that comes with going to the match. Hopefully we can sign a couple more players but hardly and players are changing hands at the moment. We should see that change over the next 2-3 weeks

Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
Right, predictions:
Last year I predicted Chelsea, and i'm gonna do the same again. Just don't see anyone beating them. If I was gonna do an interesting one, i'd say United not to finish 2nd. Although they probably will, i'd say there is a chance they might not. Other prediction: Everyone again will write Gunners out of the top 4, but they will be there, as always. Jack Wilshere to shine. Man City to collapse in a heap of shit. |

I think it's a bit too early to make predictions. there's probably still some significant moves to be made.

Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
Yeah Man U, can suck my left one....as a Liverpool supporter I'd like to think we'll be at the top...one day....we'll have our day boys...oh n who else here is Red's fan?
I've been following Munich-Bayer *my fave bundesliga team* and we're awesome, no doubt about it. But for UEFA, Red's all the way.

On loan to bolton probably
Quote:
you've got yer own ongoing thread for that crap Predictions: 1)Man Utd. We were written off last year and came mighty close, same squad , more experience and hopefully more options up front and we can do it. 2) Chelsea - its gonna be tight though 3)Arsenal - big scrap for 3rd and 4th but the gunners have enough experience i think 4)Liverpool - I think Hodgson will unfrotunately get them rocking quite quickly. 5) City - will miss out again just cos they have too much at disposal and i dont think mancini can find his best eleven until second half of season and it'll be too late 6)Birmingham - shock predict, i think they will build on last season and improve on second half season form 7) Spurs - I think they'll struggle if they qualify for CL group stages but will rally late and always good bet for a cup. 8) Everton - always steady 9) Villa - might struggle this season 10) Blackburn - mid table as usual Newcastle Blackpool Bolton Wanderers to be relegated ( thats just wishful thinking really)

As for Wolves, i dunno this year. I can't afford a season ticket for the first time in years which is poo. I think we've made some smart signings and we'll stay up. As for where, 15th or above seems a reasonable target. I'll give my top 7 at the end of the month...

Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
So glad we beat Stoke, they're so shit and deserve it. Did anyone catch David Jones' freekick on MOTD?
Next humiliation: Birmingham. How wank were they yesterday? They managed to drag themselves to a dodgy 2-2 draw. Their luck must run out soon. Also, Blackpool! Also, Baggies (LOL!)

Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
great first day of the league.
teams just seem to bring goals as gifts when they visit Stamford Bridge. WBA did all they could to make sure Chelsea felt at home. nice win for Blackpool, but Wigan were abject. Maynor Figueroa looked like he didn't want to be on the pitch. poor effort. Arsenal v Liverpool today.....2-1 Arsenal...hopefully.

Great stuff. As for Chelsea... 21 goals scored, 0 conceded in the past three Premiership games. Yay! I love how they kept the team pretty much the same. Manchester City might have bought a shedload of class players but they are turning into what Real Madrid was a couple of years ago. If Mancini manages to get the team to actually play then everyone is in a world of hurt. They'll probably be harder and harder to beat the further the competition progresses.

Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
I'll take a point away at Anfield any time, but Arsenal should have done better.
Tale of a poor referee and keeper mishaps. Good goal by Ngog, but Almunia could have done better. Arshavin doesn't appear to have decided to show up this season. again. |

Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
the in-game situations in which Arshavin excels are just too few. he can be dangerous but only in a couple of scenarios. he's got guile and flair, but lacks the athleticism and presence to contribute consistently.
Gerrard was lucky to still be on the pitch at the end...when I say lucky I mean he was at Anfield.

Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
Carlo Ancellotti must be some manager - he's barely added to the Chelsea squad, in fact it's got weaker/thinner in the year or so he's been there, he's just taken the players he's got and made them better. The players seem to really enjoy playing for each other and I have to admit Drogba is turning into one of my favourite players. I used to hate him, especially since the CL semi and his "fucking disgrace" rant to the camera. Apparently his son told him that he looked like an idiot on television and he made the change. Also reading about all the stuff he does in Africa makes him seem like a top guy off the field. Awesome player too.
I think what we learnt yesterday - Chelsea will take some beating for the title and Blackpool might finish 19th. Wigan played some of the worst football I've ever seen in the top flight.

Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
Dropping two points like we did today is gut-wrenching; especially two weeks in a row, and especially when Chelsea are humping teams 6-0 left, right and centre.

Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
chelsea havent played anyone yet, we've had two tough away games and yes we should have won both but we didnt get anything at craven cottage or goodison last season, so'ill take 2 draws. Its all going to depend on the arsenal and chelsea games. If we do better than last season we have a good chance

Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
^ you would have taken the start you have had though. I think you'll be fine if you carry the start on.
Chelsea have started great but i am hoping complacency and underestimating opposition start setting in, i think when they do have a bad result they will wobble a fair bit.

from bbc football gossip:
Manchester United striker Michael Owen has stoked up the rivalry with Liverpool ahead of the Old Trafford showdown on Sunday. When asked which Premier League fixture most excites him, the former fans' favourite at Anfield said: "Probably the Manchester derby."

Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
Excellent result today. Berba is finally letting his quality show through
For a horrible 10 minutes I thought we were going to turn into the new Premier League Draw Specialists TM, but Berba capped a fantastic performance with his hattrick. I never like being swamped by the day trippers and corporate hospitality folk though - you can never get any decent chants going. To the Gok Wan lookalike in the tartan suit 3 seats down from me - you can make the 'wanker' gesture at the scouse all you like, but you're still the cunt wearing the tartan suit with your armani cufflinks flapping around in the breeze. I know who looks like the biggest wanker
