Re: '92 David Letterman appearance
I love that they went with PJ's. It was a great idea that I am sure they laughed about before they went on.

I always dug this performance. It was a weird choice, but they sound amazing (and sloppy but in a good way) w/ Paul Scaffer's band double backing them.

Re: '92 David Letterman appearance
Always thought it made sense for them to go with something instrument-based. Probably the most striking concept about the new 90s Beasties.

Re: '92 David Letterman appearance
oh they most definitely must've laughed at their song selection, that track wasn't even a setlist regular even in '92 lol

Re: '92 David Letterman appearance
There was a time when Live at PJ's was my favourite song by them.
So I remember thinking it was so cool when I discovered that they did it on Letterman. I always loved it when they did non-singles on big tv appearances and wish they did that more at the end of their career instead of playing Sabotage / Whatcha Want for everything. Root Down on Conan, Ricky's Theme Heart Attack Man on Snl, Time to Get ill on Joan rivers. Also, would have been really cool to see them do something off the Mix Up on letterman with that era's suits and style. |

Re: '92 David Letterman appearance
To be fair, they played Shazam (Conan?) on the TT5B trail.
In later years, they were mainly promoting AIFST, SGH or reissues. So it made sense to do a classic of sorts.
