how would someone respond to something gay coming from a gay guy or gal?

ok let's try this

if two guy men are hanging out in the cafe and a straight guy walks by weariing a shirt with a picture of a Unicorn on it and one of the gay guys says "That's gay", is it still gay?

Ehm, yes. Why would something not be gay because a gay man says so?
If a gay guy says "OMG, that Elton John is SO gay!", Elton wouldn't be shagging t3h lad33s all of a sudden.

And unicorns are ALWAYS gay, nomatter on whose t-shirt they are.

But we all know Elton John invented gay, so a gay guy calling him gay wouldn't be gay, because we aready know Elton John is gay -

or would it be gay for a gay guy to call Elton John gay because we know he's gay

A serious answer. Yes, because it would have been confirmed by an expert. If a fly saw something and said that's the shit, then I would trust the fly because he knows his shit. If a bar of soap said that's clean, I would take it's word for it because it knows clean.
