Yeah!As you can see by the calibre of the threads this ain't no place for politics or "proper discussions" of any sorts.

RE: Robert Rauschenberg (The economic threat of china and Carlos Mesa are more topics for general politics) - I am not a big fan of anti-art, as I think I said in this thread here:
http://www.beastieboys.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=59492

He is certainly not an artist I am overly familiar with. Modern art has to have something for me to get my teeth into, rather than incomprehensibility. My favourite modern (lowercase m) artisit at the moment is Banksy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banksy).

I find his take on politics and urbanisation to be quite appealing, and his artwork technically ept.

RE Baudrillard,

http://www.bopsecrets.org/SI/debord.films/spectacle.htm was brought up in general politics once.

I certainly subscribed whole heartedly to his theories regarding simulacrum, it is often a very tangible phenomenon, and I think of startling relevance given the re-election of Bush.

I didn't understand his question.

Was he asking what I meant by my posts? Or what significance my username has?

Ah, in that case, nothing. It's just an individual collection of characters used to distinguish me from other posters whilst maintaining a degree of anonimity, yet allowing people in the know to plot my course on the Internet without having to remember 500 different usernames.
