I kept seeing it clockwise, but then I found out how you can see it as anti-clockwise and now I can't go back.
I try focussing on her leg, but then it seems to just go back and forth. Aaah, my mind is going crazy!

gaaaah i just did the same thing!!!! wtf happened?!!! it's freaking me out!!

edit: ok now she's spinning clockwise again. aaah i don't even know what i did. i just kept staring at it.

edit edit: i've been making it go clockwise/counterclockwise several times now lol i feel like it's scrambling my brain!!! :S

final edit: oh sweet!!! now i can control it by concentrating on the way the foot is spinning. well, this was a fun lil experiment. thanks b-grrrlie!

The shadow of her right foot is definitely going counter-clockwise for me

and if you watch the shadow of her left foot, it goes from right to left, thus counter-clockwise

just concentrate on her foot and imagine her spinning clockwise or counterclockwise then look at the whole figure again and she should be
spinning in that direction. i can do it without even trying now.

Your brain is just perceiving the depth in the image, and thus the way which it rotates. Because there is no actual depth to the image, it's all a matter of perception as to which way it turns.
