World Cup Previews - Squads
Minutes ago our 'coach' gave us the 23 names that'll represent us at the World Cup. Not so many surpriseses. But I think he could cut some names of it:
Here's the list: -Julio Cesar (OK) -Gomes (OK) -Doni (Sucks) -Maicon (OK) -Daniel Alves (OK) -Gilberto (Sucks) -Michel Bastos (nahhhh... ok) -Juan (OK) -Lucio (OK) -Luizão (OK) -Thiago Silva (OK) -Gilberto Silva (sucks really, really hard) -Felipe Melo (not ok, but not so bad either) -Josué (worse than Gilberto Silva) -Kléberson (in his good days he can be helpful) -Elano (good player. I like him) -Ramirez (I don't know. He did some good matches but recently was on decline) -Julio Baptista (I just hate him) -Kaka (OK) -Nilmar (OK) -Luiz Fabiano (OK) -Robinho (OK) -Grafite (a surprise. But I prefer him than Adriano) Post your National Teams' Squads here. |

Re: World Cup Previews - Squads
Well, basically yes.
We have lots of better players than those suckers there. And when I put OK I meant I agree with the decision. I like those players. I think they're in the most part great players. But let a player like Ronaldinho or Paulo Ganso off the list, and choose Josué and Gilberto Silva, is bullshit. |

Re: World Cup Previews - Squads
its a shame the goofy brazillian genius wont be going cos he is fantastic to watch.
capello has to get rid of 7, its dependent on fitness i think. dont think there'll be too many surprises in the actual 23. some people have been given a chance but not sure kids like adam johnson will get in

I think they gonna suck as they always do. Not because there's this rivalry between us. It's because they never correspond as expected. Let's hope they drop a good football cause this year they have Messi on fire. |

Re: World Cup Previews - Squads
i would seriously give some thought to an african nation doing very well. Ivory coast or ghana have good squads but tough groups but if drogba fires the Ivory coast would be a handful for anyone. Sven got us to 2 quarter finals so no reason why he cant do well again

Re: World Cup Previews - Squads
Right then, final 23:
Goalkeepers: Joe Hart (Manchester City), David James (Portsmouth), Robert Green (West Ham). Defenders: Jamie Carragher (Liverpool), Ashley Cole (Chelsea), Rio Ferdinand (Manchester United), Glen Johnson (Liverpool), Ledley King (Tottenham), John Terry (Chelsea), Matthew Upson (West Ham), Stephen Warnock (Aston Villa). Midfielders: Gareth Barry (Manchester City), Michael Carrick (Manchester United), Joe Cole (Chelsea), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), Frank Lampard (Chelsea), Aaron Lennon (Tottenham), James Milner (Aston Villa), Shaun Wright-Phillips (Manchester City). Forwards: Peter Crouch (Tottenham), Jermain Defoe (Tottenham), Emile Heskey (Aston Villa), Wayne Rooney (Manchester United) these 7 will miss out: Darren Bent (Sunderland), Tom Huddlestone (Tottenham), Adam Johnson (Manchester City), Theo Walcott (Arsenal),Scott Parker (West Ham),Leighton Baines (Everton), Michael Dawson (Tottenham) not sure about it. The walcott omission is fair enough, you have to respect capello's reasons. he's not in form and he has many options there. Its more playing leighton baines and deciding he's not good enough and picking someone he hasnt played. If baines wasnt good enough then have a look at warnock ffs. and despite being a united fan, i'd have taken huddlestone over carrick, at least tom has a shot on him. Carricks been gash this season, falls asleep in the centre circle with the ball!. Plus he should have took dawson over upson.Dawson and king could have been a partnership in reserve. And dont give me experience as the reason why upson went, matthew upson has experience of being shit. Having said all that, i kind of prefer it all looking a bit wobbly than getting my hopes up and having them dashed. we will get to the quarters and go out on penalties.Again.
