Black Lake - by Emancipator from Safe in the Steep Hills

http://emancipator.bandcamp.com/

I don't know what it is about winter, but I always go back to those melancholic, deep, amazingly orchestrated beats. Maybe it's just winter.

gonna see this cat with Blockhead in a couple weeks

Good one.

Not sure why but I'm liking the shit out of this one.

Bloc party Helicopter remix. Very Gorillaz-esque if you ask me.

Probably not technically a song but more a compilation of 2010's best songs mixed for the Hype Machine blog by the Glitch Mob, it's as if they've been reading my mail, great driving music.

They have 5 total rehashes of the year, all free downloads.

Just discovered Bibio recently - some really nice stuff. This song is going around and around in my head and just won't quit. Wait for the meat and veg to start at 1:28 - pure gold.

Bibio - Lovers' Carvings

sorry to change tack here but this is the best piece of dance music i have heard for yonks. Deadmau5 liked the remix so much he put it on his album instead of the original

Yeah, that damn album keeps getting pushed back - it was supposed to be out this time last year. Can't say I'm a massive fan of this new one, but maybe it'll grow on me

The missus informs me it's on an advert for Amazon's kindle. Haven't seen it myself.

I came about it in a really long-winded way. I downloaded some weird Eastern European electro radio station app for my iPhone and heard a song I liked, then looked it up on Youtube. The Bibio one was in the related videos. I should probably just watch more TV - seems like an easier way to find stuff! :S

EDIT: Incidentally - There's another nice tune in the related videos by 'Washed Out': Clicketh

wow - Kate Bush, sad that only 99% of Lady Gaga fans don't know who she is.

I can only handle her in small doses, very small doses - like maybe 3 to 5 song small doses

I like Running up that Hill, This Woman's Work, Don't give up

I love the new album of the Fleet Foxes. And one of the best songs ever:

Fleet Foxes - The Shrine / An Argument
and Battery Kinzie

Also, the new album of PJ Harvey is so great. Especially:
The Colour of the Earth
The Words that maketh Murder
Hanging in the Wire
On Battleship Hill

And from Peter Gabriel - The Book of Love

That's it for the moment!

GAGA fan here and I totally KNOW who Kate Bush is! She did that Breathe song and it's one of my favorite videos of all time. It's so unique. GAGA definitely took some pointers from Kate.

I love GAGA's new album because it's got a lot of great 80's/90's hooks and sounds that I love. I think my favorite track is Bloody Mary. It's really dark. I love dark.
