I was very critical of Chris Brown previously. keep in mind he is about the age Yauch was when he was tearing shit up back in the License to Ill days.. And Chris brown is the age where (many) of us were doing crazy shit too, stuff we may not be proud of. I know i've done SOME CRAZY SHIT, dirty, mean, disrespectful.

I wish I'd been doing it before, but i hope all of us, if only out of respect and love for our man MCA, start being more forgiving of people, more understanding, and not add to the negative energy fo the world by judging people to harshly. Since Yauch's passing, it's been on the forefront of my behavior-being kind, every word and action we take has an effect on our lives and the world.

Your Yauch video is blocked in my country - I am so goddamn mad. Dying to see it. I KNEW you would do a tribute to Yauch. I just KNEW it. I knew you'd have something planned that would blow our minds. I've been looking forward to it for a month. And now it's blocked.

Listen; I used the same song for MY tribute video to Yauch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBVGoj9xEoA

It's slightly risky (which is now why I have my vids spread out across about 10 channels! It's ridiculous!) But there IS a trick which WILL work if you want me to send you the steps.

Or you can upload it to Vimeo. They don't seem to care about copyright. If you're not on Vimeo; let me know. I can always upload it on my Vimeo channel for you so people can see it. I would be happy to help!

Let me know! Either way, thankyou for making it. I know it's gonna flip my wig back as soon as I see it!

Hi Sarah, only just saw this. As you know, its on Vimeo now, And you dig it. Haha. Just eMailed you my fist picture as well. Really like your tribute video. It did seem like a fitting song to use (A Year and a Day). So you are PinkyGhost723 as well (on youtube)? Keep in touch. Rich

Yeah but Yauch wasn't beating up his girlfriend.

But I get what you're saying.

I somehow missed this teaser video .So much has been going on but I'd like to get it all posted on my Yauch page sometime today.

Thanks for all of the great shit guys! Yauch would be proud.

I build websites for a living and we launched our new site today. I gave MCA a shout out in my bio. Not quite as cool as a mixtape or a mural, but I wanted to give my love and respect: http://www.bluek.com/who-we-are

Didn't see this one here: Elton John dedicates a tune to Yauch. Sure he pronounces his name wrong, but what the hell. Nice move, Sir Elton.

I Love Adam Yauch.

Found this Tibetan blog. Anyone know who's taken that photo of Yauch and Dalai Lama? I was approached by a buddhist magazine on flickr and they want to use that pic. They found it amongst my collected pics of MCA, I think they believe I've taken the photo... but I wanna give credit to whom its due.

Yelawolf paid tribute to Adam Yauch with a three-song Beastie Boys medley during his Bonnaroo set yesterday (June 7th). Here's an interview with him about the tribute:

Quote:
But the best part came with a dedication to the Beastie Boys: a medley of "Fight For Your Right," "Brass Monkey," "Intergalactic," and "Paul Revere" that found Yela doing a loving impression of MCA and the others while the audience chanted the name of the recently deceased rapper.

This is a brilliant article. I love horoscope stuff, and how amazing the guy went to Quaker summercamp with Adam as a kid?!!

This is a really cool story about this father and his son who had the pleasure of meeting and hanging out with Adam during a Tibetan ritual back in 1994.

I know, it's just that this song/video is pretty much the exact opposite of what Adam and the Beasties are all about now, it comes across more like a parody or a joke than a tribute. Then again, as much as I don't believe him when he says it is a tribute, and as much as I dislike it and think it's disrespectful, maybe, MAYBE in his mind it was the right thing to do and it IS a real, heartfelt tribute. But even then, t's confusing and just... uncomfortable. =/
