Would their cover of Big Shot count? Or is that more in line with Sabotage/Remote Control?

i’m thinking Big Shot and Sabotage is more rock and not punk. i considered both tho.

With the exception of the live covers it looks like you have it.

Maybe some triphammer?
Are you doing side projects? Then you can open to BFL (maybe), DFL, Young and the Useless.

You got "Soba Violence". Nice.

How about "Nothing to Say"? It was on the "Music for Our Mother Ocean 3" compilation. I think that's the only thing it was on.

i'd like to make the case to take lee majors off the list. I believe it to be a hip-hop song.

- they're rapping
- there's 3 vocalists on the track. I say this disqualifies it as a hardcore song
- it clocks in at a long and very un-hardcore 3:43
- although minimal there's scratching on it, I say this also disqualifies it as a hardcore song.

there you have it. I say no Lee Majors on your compilation.

i've made several mixtapes of their more hardcore skewed songs, always call it Frozen Metal Head ripping name from the official promo CD they put out, and i include lee majors. but i've also always included gratitude, and sabotage and remote and even looking down the barrel at times. there is a fine line though of where to stop which is why their music is so glorious, so i guess it just depends on whatever you want it to sounds like when it's switching tracks. if you want a straight up hardcore mix i'd prob leave lee majors off, if you want to include all their cuts with a hardcore foundation then you have to include it.

and not sure if mentioned above but don't forget their cover of screaming at a wall....there are a few good copies of this out there.

thank you adam adam & mike

i agree with all your arguments against Lee Majors but i veto it because of two reasons.

1. it’s on their last album which makes it a “full circle” situation and it’s “hardcore in spirit”.

2. i made this playlist for my daily run and with Lee Majors it makes it 36 minutes and that’s my average run time.

* there’s scratches and samples on Tough Guy and that seems pretty hardcore to me. but what do i know? haha

100% think Lee Majors should be on there! Musically it's very much hardcore, you could also stretch to the chorus also being acceptable vocally. While hardcore tracks should generally be hard and fast (and short), there are exceptions to the rule - even Mullethead by the boys clocks in at around 3 minutes (I don't have the song info to hand right now)

If you go down the route of discounting their hardcore tracks based on rapping, there's a few instances of Mike adopting more of a rapping style on verses (eg. Brand New).

And I agree it's nice to have something from the end of their musical output on there!

"B boys bringing it back to A7"

That reference is another case for it being a hardcore song.

As for the detractions of it having scratching and three of them singing. I don't think those should be disqualifies.

Lee Majors is kind of that mis-shapen, crayon circle simile bought to life.

I always liked their "Screaming at a Wall" cover. Wasn't this on the Sabotage VHS?
