Oh, man -- I practically lived on his chicken pizza for a while there in my 20's.

Has anyone in this family ever even seen a chicken?

Actually, I've got a Newman's Own salsa in my home fridge that is fuckin' tasty.

But, yeah -- their stuff is hit and miss.

I gave it a 3rd try this weekend and it had huge chunks of tomato and pepper in it,like it hadn't been minced enough...not condusive to dipping...I had like a 3 inch piece of greyish green pepper in it....so I damned the torpedos and ate it anyway's...know what?...it actually tasted pretty good...

The one I got is really chunky, too, but I like that.

Then again, I'm using it for rice and salads and not chips...

I know it's mass manufactured and all but this it's my fave supermarket available salsa...and apparently they have a whole line of stuff stateside...

http://www.pacefoods.com/products.aspx

Come to think of it there are only 4 available brands at my grocer...

Pace,Newmans,Safeway select and Old ElPaso...oh and Tostitos which I have never tried...

Pace is all right.

I stop in at a FoodMaxx if I need something before work, and their sorta-house-brand salsa is really inexpensive and pretty darned tasty.
It's like, $1.69 for about a 16 ounce jar.

that shitake sauce sounds great!

My favorite coffee
http://www.saltspringcoffee.com/
carbon neutral never went down so smooth.

best salsa, I dont think its available anywhere except BC though...maybe in alberta. Save-On stores carry it for sure.
http://www.freshisbest.ca/products/products.htm
their guac and spinach dip is pretty killer too. and their chips are on the thicker side, almost like pita chips, Mmmm.

Ive tried the paul newmans salsa too, and I also wasnt a huge fan. Im not big on any canned salsas anymore actually. so spoiled.
