Because the guy stood up like that by himself. Normally the ride will just throw you outwards against the pads, but he countered the centrifugal force by standing on an almost vertical surface.

he's a carnie who is operating the Gravitron - which spins around and creates artificial gravity, pinning you to the slanted walls - you can turn yourself upside down so basically he is standing against the gravity created by the spinning

I saw a guy do this - it's dangerous and he told the riders not to talk about it afterward or he'd get in trouble

I hate that ride now

I used to ride it as a kid....but I'd find myself looking around and would fix my eyes on the chump who was looking really shaky and about to get sick and it would start making me sick.

Can't do it anymore.

I rode one of those once and got sick after drinking pink lemonade and eating hotdogs.

Needless to say, it was all over everyone's clothes that was in the gravitron.
