Re: The Family Album
Ok, time for some more pictures since I haven't taken any new one of me for years. I've just taken these while I wait and practice some my Tae Kwon Do. I've only been doing it a month but I have a shiney white suit. I put the camera on the option 'take 1st pic after 10 seconds then take 4 pics, a second or so apart' option
So this is me in my ready stance then I moved into a middle block then a low block (actually I did two low blocks, this is the 2nd one which is why I am nearer and blocking with the same hand) then I side kick (but I wasn't quick enough for the camera). My arse looks big in this but I don't care! So yeah. There is me. I think the TKD suit (dobok) is kinda slimming, looking at my pics. Cus I'm a fat fucker - 16 stone/224 lbs/110 kg depending where you are and how you know weights, so if you want a suit that looks slim - get a Dobok! edit - sorry about the Batman tilt of the camera. It was balanced and started to slip as the pictures was taken...

Re: The Family Album
you wear white ones. duh.
when you advance to a higher belt (closer to black belt) you get a thicker gi. then you worry less about vpl and more about getting your ass kicked.

Re: The Family Album
Yes, the thin gi represents your weak skin, your lack of heart, your pathetic lack of discipline. The thicker the gi, the thicker/stronger the skin and "heart". If I had a gi, It'd be made of leather.

Re: The Family Album
no, a thicker gi makes a better snappy sound when you set your moves, and protects you a bit more when you're being attacked. it's also a hell of a lot more expensive so you'd better be committed to it.

Re: The Family Album
I am and was wearing black boxer shorts in those pictures. I always wear black boxer shorts and I don't care about VPL. You do get a pretty cool suit for Black Belt. The club I belong to colours are black and red, which is a pretty cool suit. The white is what you use for grading but that is all I have so that is all I use. If I buy a club suit ever, I'll post a pic.
They, can be some fairly gay moves, a few black belts was actually talking about putting all the gayest moves together into a pattern. And my face looks pretty gay cus my lips out sticking out a bit cus you breath out when you do the move to add power. But I don't care. And it's a Dobok in TKD, not a Gi, like a some other martial arts.
