Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
adebayor going to real madrid for 6 months, possibly perminant. i dont see how hes going to force his way back into city with tevez, dzenko, and mario in front of him. especially with jo and santa cruz still on the team as well.
could blackstool be the team to give the manures their first loss of the season?!?!?! |

doesnt look like manures ( )going down today though. blackpool fucked it, sloppy defending in this second half. berba>rooney (not just on current form imo although that is way more than obvious. overall i prefer berba much more to wayner even when the forms were reversed) 10 minutes of stoppage time may be the most i have ever seen in a game. |

Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
ahhh yes yes. my mind was playing tricks on me, i knew there was a lot of talk about him moving to lazio and that didnt go through. then he goes to blackburn and thats that. slipped my mind.
still tho, 3 WORLD CLASS forwards that any team would take, and a promising young player who is not demanding a lot of time does not leave much room for ady. |

Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
Adebayor had definitely fallen down the striking order, even if Balotelli isn't actually world class.
in other Mario news, his desire to play for Milan won't be satisfied any time soon if Zlatan has a say in it. "There is no place for Balotelli,” Ibrahimovic said, “At Milan we have Ibrahimovic..."

indeed. And before you show overmars or wiltord winning titles at our gaff, in the interest of fairness, i tried to find that footage of the gooner going ballistic with one of the best faces ever when arsenal won at old trafford but i couldnt find it. Sky showed it for about 5 years after. Its classic.

Ahhh... the glory days.
It was always a fair fight with the Gunners, and you never knew who was going to come out on top. These two goals will always stay fresh in my memory for very different reasons (unless I get Alzheimer's):

Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
Suarez to Liverpool.
Torres won't be leaving... yet. Even though we're in a right terrible position this is great news. yeah, sure he's unproven in the Premier League etc. but even if he gets half the goals and assists he's provided at Ajax he'll be worth every penny. Plus, if Reina gets injured or sent off we'll have a good substitute goal keeper. Shout out to Ghana.

whilst i think it wouldnt be such a bad idea for you lot to cash in on torres now, there is no way the board would let him go and risk a bad season afterwards, the new board need to keep you lot happy and it would take silly money to make him leave anfield.

Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
possibly but he is only one of three decent players they have, its a big risk and if it means they struggle initially then the fans wont be happy. In this topsy turvy season i dont think they could afford to take that chance, i think he will go in the summer.

Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
fairly sure its to do with bosman ruling, i could be wrong (might be a euro market thing) its always been like that since the ruling came in. Plus i imagine its do with not wanting to relinquish your best players to possible rivals without getting massively paid in return.

Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
We also have new rules about having a certain number of homegrown players in the squad, which means players born in this country or at least blooded from the age of 18.
This means the cost of English players is continuing to rise more, as foreign imports will only hinder clubs in the long run. etc. etc. (Et cetera)

Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
i love deadline day, especially reading the bbc sport live text with all kinds of randommers chipping in.
some mental deals going thru (or not) - £35 mill for andy carroll, i understand the market forces but come on. this made me smile on the text this morning: "Emile Heskey has been spotted at Newcastle. Though, to be fair, he was probably aiming for Middlesbrough."
