Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
great end to the transfer window. top drama. absolute madness on the part of Liverpool. makes the Dzeko deal look like an inspired bargin.
when they're gonna be throwing money around for a striker why didn't they throw it at Atlético Madrid to get Diego Forlan or Sergio Agüero? Forlan may be getting on a bit, but he's proven quality and works well with Suarez who they've also just bought. or even another Uruguayan, Edinson Cavani, who's been on fire in Serie A this season. he's equal to if not better than Carroll in the air. anyone of those, apart from Aguero, would've been cheaper than paying way over value for Carroll. or is it all dependent on Liverpool's squad make-up? have they just got too many imports? I'll be interested to see how Carroll performs without the guidance of Kevin Nolan. they seemed to form a good partnership on and off the field.

Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
At first I was gutted that Torres was leaving. Then I was absolutely incredulous that £35 million was being dumped on Andy Carroll.
Then I decided to put a positive spin on it: selling Torres is a statement saying that no player is going to hold the club to ransom - if they want to go then go and don't let the door hit you on the way out. Then spending way over the odds on a very good English striker with lots of potential shows that Liverpool are back in the business of doing what the hell they like and not having to scrimp and save to service debts.

Seriously though, you're better off without Torres - he's a perfect example of a petulant manchild who's forgotten that playing football isn't all about the money. Rather like Wayne Rooney - I wish we were rid of that timewaster. He's holding Hernandez back by staying at United and hogging a first team place whilst doing nothing more than score a penalty every other month. I wouoldn't be surprised if Hernandez was off within a few years if Rooney keeps underperforming his way into the first team.

Suarez scores within quarter of an hour of his debut at Anfield... not a bad way to begin to get over Torres.

Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
You guys played well.
We were atrocious - we've been desperate at times this season and this was one of them. You know things are bad when Scholes starts playing volleyball and Giggs is hacking Doyle down when the ball isn't even in play. Hopefully, now all talk of being unbeaten is out of the window, it will give some of the players who were cruising (Carrick/Fletcher) that boot up the arse that they need. I'm glad for Wolves - having spent a few years of my life in that fun little shithole, I've developed quite a soft spot for them. I'd be sorry to see them relegated, so I hope more results start to go their way

Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
Wolves proved how shakey our defense is :-(
Speaking of defense, I saw Gary Neville on Football Focus on saturday morning and I was genuinely upset when I realised he'd never play for us again. There are countless people who hate him for loving/playing for the most hated club in the world but he's possibly one of the best right backs I've ever seen and ever will see. But as a life long united fan - it's awesome to see a player who loved us as much as we loved him. In his 20 year career at united he was not once linked with another club - such was the belief from the other managers that he would never part with united. Well done that red. |

Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
The defeat has been coming, sort of glad its out of the way and hopefully we can step it up but this league is always tight. At least all yesterdays games were fucking awesome, what a days football. I notice the gooners are absent. what a comeback

Fair do's Planetary , i still think about 9 teams can go down . Momentum is key. Coming back to beat United after the way your last game ended at bolton is good skills. Quote:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2...e-andy-carroll I'll quote the best bit if you cant be arsed: The only bling this unspectacular but solid player has pursued is medals, and a man could burgle the home of every Liverpool player for the last 18 years and not collect as much silverware as Neville has earned

Re: English Premier League 2010/2011
4-4. opportunity lost.
Phil Dowd and the linesman Massey both had a shocking game. sends off Diaby for pushing Barton and after the first Newcastle goal you can see fat moron Dowd standing with his arms crossed like an alcoholic PE teacher watching as Szczesny gets thrown to the ground by Kevin Nolan. if that kind of thing would've happened out in general play Nolan would've been off immediately. later Dowd and Massey conspire to disallow a perfectly fine Newcastle goal and then decide to give one of the softest penalties of the season. Arsenal were as responsible for their own downfall though. what's Koscielny doing fouling a player who's got his back to goal?!! Diaby can have no complaints and Squillaci and Rosicky were terrible when they came on. Rosicky was responsible for three goals, only two of them counted thankfully. thank god for Wolves.
