in 2001 there was one league started in texas and it has grown so quickly that there are now over 600 leagues through the US alone. the Aussies are really into it as well. there's this rad book called "Rollergirl: Totally True Tales From the Track" by Melissa "Melicious" Joulwan. that book is a quick and interesting read if you want to know how it began to make a comeback and how it is actually now considered a professional sport. it's got some pretty gruesome injury stories in there as well. as for me... the worst injuries i've had are a broken arm (at my elbow) and a HUGE black bruise on my ass. i seriously couldn't sit nor sleep for about a week with that fuck off bruise. |

Re: The Family Album
Do you have a photo.
Yeah, rollerderby is big around here too. Seattle's Rat City Rollergirls are apparently a very good team. I saw them at Bumbershoot '06, it was the most fun I had all day. I decided I want a rollerderby name. I dubbed my friend Devon Devilicious

a photo of my big ass bruise? yeah i have one. i'll post it later when i'm at home... you can't tell it's on my ass b/c i made sure to take it with no crack. haha.
there's actually a derby master list of names. no one is allowed to have the same name on any team. I'm registered on there. http://www.twoevils.org/rollergirls/ and yeah, seattle is amazing. they're one of the first teams that formed after the texas girls. |

You are ALL more than welcome to crash whenever you are in Chicago, I am the best hostess...ask Queenie.
Rock I love that coffee maker, I mean any coffee pot that you can set it and it's ready for you when you wake up, thats pure luxury. Venus...yes still in Chicago, just further south of where I was and that's the Sears Tower. "Dude, she wants us to meet her at a place called Sausages?!" |

Re: The Family Album
I've always liked a good cup of java!
I so totally want a coffee bean grinder as a christmas present after visiting peachy! Funny thing always when in London I get the best coffee! Here I just add some freshly ground cardamon in my espresso mocca maker and it makes the best morning coffee (some people sometimes just come over for my awesome coffee...), but making it from freshly ground beans makes my knees weak!
