Re: The Family Album
who's the one that took two bowls, Al?

Re: The Family Album
My first thought was "What's he on about? Two bowls??" Then after actually looking at the picture I was like "Hey, who took two bowls?" Then I tried to think back on the events leading up to the picture. Then it occurred to me, I wasn't originally sitting there; Kim, the young lady taking the picture got up so that I could sit there while she took the picture. She's kind of our band photographer and is directing our music video and such, and so, 5th bowl belonged to her. Mystery solved.

Re: The Family Album
Awesome.
Starting at about Heiress' last picture, it just seems like all the girls here have been trying to outdo each other with the photos (minus Brabs, I don't think she was trying very hard). Anyway, it's going to be hard to top these.

Re: The Family Album
Then that dude in the foreground, who is our guitarist, but who is also a NINJA with REAL ULTIMATE POWER, started shredding on his guitar. IT SOUNDED LIKE 100 FRICKIN GUITARS! Man that was some awesome soup!
(it tasted almost like a peanut sauce)

Re: The Family Album
I comprehn'ded it.
The subject is indeed a handsome one. It's as though she is unaware of the camera's presence, her gleaming (gleeming) forelocks just barely exposing the left side of her face, the perfect contours of her jawline framing her tender visage. My only criticism is the abysmal lighting. I give it an 8.

Re: The Family Album
You're absolutely right about the contours contouring her, and moving the viewer's eyes around her. My eyes cannot rest on just one part of that picture. She's making love to the camera; which isn't surprising considering that she once showed us all a picture of a camera that she said she'd fuck if she could. This was back when she was considering a career in photography.

Re: The Family Album
So you're thinking perhaps she set up the shot, carefully got into position, feigned the unawareness, and used the auto timer to get the picture to work? WAIT, maybe she finally got her hands on that sexy camera she wanted to copulate! And maybe she drew the contours on with a marker beforehand. I think you may be onto something.

Re: The Family Album
But her smile is so endearing and innocent, if any notion of that kind of design on her part was in my head before I looked at the picture again, it would vanish instantly as soon as the contours got hold of me, and those eyes, and that glowing caramel skin.
The more I gaze at her, the more I see not just youthful sweetness and lack of guile, but a real warm, nurturing, maternal air about her. Do you see it? |

Re: The Family Album
I do see it. And although it may seem a tad superfluous, the picture strikes me as sort of a kindred to the Mona Lisa (but with better definition in the subject's jaw, higher cheek bones, and the presence of horrible lighting), acting as sort of a bridge between the Renaissance and the modern age. Her gaze is at once alluring, haunting, unknowing, and vulnerable. There is regret in her eyes and subtle apathy in her smile.
Still an 8.
