We've discussed certain procedures that will be implemented should the worst happen, but I cannot discuss those here...

Hey, you stole my "h1h1h1h1"!!!

And, it seems I've got a usual/h1n1 flu. Not too serious though. It's just that most flus at this time are a mix of h1n1 and the 'usual' flu.

Anyway, at least where I live, the cases have decreased, but the news won't tell us that because they are afraid we stop taking precautions.

Carrying on with my life just like I did when people were freaking the fuck out about y2k, anthrax, and SARS.

I'm sick of hearing about it, to be honest. Taking precaution is one thing but being fearful just because everyone else is is quite another, especially since I'm not pregnant, old, or an infant. If I get it, it will run its course just like the regular flu, so why worry?

Absolutely nothing.

Three of my friends claim to have had it, and I don't believe them.

Another MASS distraction and another cash cow for Big Pharma

People are dying from the flu as well (like they do every year)...why no freak out about that?

AIDS and HIV are still alive and well but yet very little news on those anymore.

I had a cold last week, wasn't anything serious and I still went to work. When I got there Saturday and coughed, somebody said "OH GOD, HE HAS THE SWINE FLU!" and gave themselves a self-congratulatory laugh. I gave her that one as a freebie, but then later on she made another swine flu joke and I threatened to cough on her kids if she didn't shut her mouth.

So I have my issues with swine flu. The fucking jokes.

I got my H1N1 vaccination today before I left work. Was high on the priority list since I'm a nurse and work with immunocompromised patients.

For Halloween I am going to dress like a pig and push around a IV stand. I plan to breath on kid's candy and shake lots of hands.
